I think Lyon would do a wonderful job with our list TBH. I think our list talent-wise is better than St.Kildas (I think our core young group will be better than theirs in a few years and with more depth) and Lyon would be silly not to play more attacking football with the ability at his disposal. He also wouldn't take laziness from the players or inconsistent efforts.

For those who are [censored] on his defensive work - This can be taught. You can't teach the pace and skills he has. Quietly excited about Blease .

I really thought Green turned the corner last year with his leadership and attack on the ball. Disappointingly though he's gone back to selfish, downhill skiier 2000-2006 Green. I'd keep him on the list but don't want him as captain next year. The incident with Nicholson in the goalsquare was a disgrace especially when you think back to Green and Bate against Adelaide.

Please no. Unless we can somehow win at least 1 of our next 3 and also win the remaining 3 games, I don't want him next year.

The boys need to take risks through the middle and tackle like they did against Richmond. We are a massive shot in this game if we start well early and keep going through the middle. I have to admit though I'd feel more confident if we were down by a goal at 1/2 time compared to up by 30 considering what happened in round 2. Frawley to Franklin and Tapscott to Rioli. God I love Tapscott, looked like he hadn't missed a game all year on Saturday night.

I don't understand the Fev hate. Think about what we'd give up for him. NOTHING. Take him late in the draft, give him a 1 year deal where we can sack him after any off-field crap.

Halls first goal was a good kick to his advantage, no defender could have stopped that, the second one was a missed mark from Gysberts meant Frawley lost sight of the ball and to be honest I can't remember the 3rd. Frawley was beating Hall in the few times it was one on one. The Cooney goal was the fault of whichever midfielder was on him at the time, not Chips. Chips job was to play on Hall, why is he meant to run to Cooney as well? I don't think Chip was great tonight at all, I do agree he looked a bit uninterested which is most unlike him, but he wasn't made to look second rate by Hall nor was the Cooney goal his fault. Back on topic I don't think Bennell will become an AFL standard player, has lovely skills and pace but is soft and doesn't get the ball enough.

I know recent results have been thrashings to them (Excluding the game late last year, where we would have won if it hadn't gotten wet) but I think our forwardline can beat their backline pretty easily and if Frawley plays well on Buddy again we are a definite chance.

Didn't we draft Lawrence last year? That would mean he's on a two year rookie contract so I don't see the point of delisting a rookie one year into his career unless it was a mutual agreement. I think there might be a few clubs interested in Warnock and possibly Bate, I'd like to keep Warnock for depth TBH but I think he'll want to play regularly somewhere else.

FWIW - I phrased the OP poorly. I do think we are currently downhill skiiers (Though I don't think the crowd was really that bad tbh, nearly 20k on a wierd timeslot on a Sunday and the weather looked like it could rain, and we were playing the second lowest drawing team in the league) but I've noticed BT loves to stick the boot in. Also makes numerous remarks about the crowds, even when we've been doing OK. I was just curious as to why he dislikes us. Maclure and Alves don't hate us at all, they are just good commentators who tell it like it is. Maclure used to tear into Carlton back when they were garbage on a weekly basis, he has never been bias. Walls and Lane on the other hand...

Just watching the Fremantle game and why does BT hate us so much? Could not sound any less enthusiastic calling Melbourne games and loves to take little snipes at our players (Last quarter when Nicholson kicks the goal to put us 50 points up, he says 'The Dees just love it when a game is like this', not sure what other people think of that but to me he's saying we are just a bunch of downhill skiiers which may or may not be true but he says things like this every game). Anyone else agree?
