I'll have a crack - hard to find 6 but here goes:

6. Green - tried hard and used it better than most

5. McLean - thought he had a good duel with Watson

4. Moloney - butchered it a bit but kept at it.

3. Davey - not a great night for him but got 30 touches and played it out.

2. Bruce - just wish he'd use it better

1. Martin - liked his work forward

Posted

6. Davey - easily our best kick. Turned it over a few times, but is our only creative link

5. Frawley - beat Lloyd, unlucky to have conceded 3 goals. Keeps his feet better than anyone at the club.

4. Moloney - just because i like him. (+10 clearances)

3. Green - worked hard and had the better of Lovett.

2. Jurrah - for his goal and the smiles he put on all our faces!

1. Watts - only because no-one else really deserved one

Honorable mention to PJ, who showed he can ruck very well, and Bate, who tried so hard but was not helped by disgraceful disposal inside 50.

Good call PJ tried hard and Bate did well from limited opportunity and was often completely outnumbered.

i thought Martin and PJ were horrible today.. so many turnovers!! frawley and bennel worked their way back into it after slow starts.. poor game really..

I think the idea is to put them in order from 6 down to 1 and McLaren played for the Bombers today so your votes are void.

Oh ok..... Let me have another go:

6:Moloney

5:Sylvia

4:Frawley

3:Martin

2:Bate

1:Jurrah

Green and McLean butchered the footy as did Bruce. I thought Davey was pretty average. Robertson is still borderline Casey in my eyes. Not working out for us and no future. This next line has made me throw up in my mouth a little: Newton should play FF for us......

PJ only turned it over directly once from memory (that rushed kick in the defensive 50). Martin made a few clangers, but i thought the positives of his game outweighed the negatives. We all know he's raw and still learning the game. How nice was his goal?!

Thought Frawley was great, didn't concede a goal after quarter time, and 2 of Lloyd's 3 were pretty fortunate.

Bennell had a shocker for mine, hardly sighted and well beaten by his opponents. Not strong enough to have a consistent impact yet, but i think he'll be a good player for us. Just need to be patient.

Really hard as I thought we had few standouts and a lot of ordinary players out there:

6. Green

5. Moloney

4. Davey

3. Sylvia

2. Frawley

PJ made three clangers (one of which resulted in a goal to the opposition) and gave away at least two free kicks which resulted in opposition goals. Yes he tried hard, but he was also pretty silly at times.

It's amazing how people see the game differently.

How anyone cannot find it reasonable not to mention James Frawley in their lists amazes me.

Just want to make a very public note that in what was a generally insipid performance he was a rock in defence. Surely one of our backines sure things for the future (which after last night feels even further away).

He just missed in my votes. Average first quarter for mine. Good game.
