Dew dropped for disciplinary reasons - probably lost weight against coach's orders .

That's a very good team. Glad to have Green back, we have been missing his goals. Cheny is very very unlucky. He was great last week and did some courageous stuff but with those 4 coming back someone had to be dropped. Also glad to see Bennell back in the team. Dew must be the hawthorn player dropped for disciplinary reasons. Quarters mentioned it when he said what's coming up in sport. He didn't mention Dew but just said the Hawks drop a star player for disciplinary reasons.

Looking foward to sunday to see how we go.

Happy with the team. The players returning are massive inclusions.

Cheney is unlucky but understandable, I think he might be the sort of player who is on the fringes of selection week in week out, he certainly gives himself every chance.

And I guess either Bartram or Petterd were going to be dropped. Ricky has to show a little bit this week.

Overall I think the lineup is one that will give it a shake on Sunday.

Sensational that we are starting to get some real depth and competition for spots. Cheney, in particular, is extremely unlucky after an excellent game last weekend. The future is looking brighter and brighter.

Cheney stiff, but still really happy with that side.

Agreed.

Hopefully Petterd is played in the backline.

I'm particularly happy that with Frawley and Rives coming in as two defenders, Cheney (unlucky as you say) and Bartram have made way. In the past the team would be full of these defensive type players.

P.S. I tipped Melbourne this week.

If we had a gun key forward we would beat that Hawthorn side...

Great team.

Definitely the best one we've fielded all season.

Cheney stiff, but not as stiff as Bartram, who has done a great job this season under the most difficult circumstances.

This will be the first time that Bartram has ever played seconds while at the MFC, which is a testament to the great services he has given us in his short career.

If we can keep Buddy and Roughead to under 5 goals combined, we'll win.

GO DEES!

Yeah, Cheney's unlucky, but I suppose that's a good sign. It's incredibly tough to get a game down back at the moment. Where the heck are they going to fit Garland in there, when he's eventually fit?

Neither of our main 'run with' players (Bartram / Dunn) have been selected, while Bateman, Mitchell, Sewell and Rioli are all going well for the Hawks. The match-ups will be fascinating!!

Hmmm...

Not only one of, but two of our best taggers and run with players get dropped, just as we come up against a side with a strong midfield.

I'd have kept one of Bartram or Dunn.

Bartram hasn't really been dropped and won't be playing for Casey. The club is resting him and giving him some time off- he hasn't trained for the second half of this week. After a pretty stressful couple of months they're just giving him soon time to get refreshed.

Cheney VERY stiff.

While this makes perfect sense, and Bartram deserves times off if he needs it, why was he named in the Casey squad for this week?

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
