Good question! Maybe we leave Spencer in when Jamar is due back in a few?? Maybe Valents gets one last chance for a crack. Sounds like he has been going well of late in the magoos!

If jamar is due back then we dont need spencer, with meeson doing well, jamar to come back in and PJ will do better at VFL than spencer...

With blease not in the main side i would prefer trying one of the untried rookies. Out of hughes and healey i think... healey looks ok but is only playing in the twos... hughes is still coming back from injury but is playing well at casey..

if this is true,

SAM BLEASE YOU ARE NOW A PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYER, YOU CANNOT PLAY SCHOOL YARD JACK IN THE PACK. DO YOU EVER SEE NBA PLAYERS PLAYING STREET BALL WITH THERE FELLOW HOOD MEN?

if this is not true then.

CARRY ON.

I dare say the kid will be feeling fairly average not only due to the injury but also for letting down of all MFC stakeholders....supporters included. Propably not appropiate to compund the situation with comments like the above (no pun intended).

Valenti has to be the man he's done nothing wrong and is still getting plenty of the ball, McKenzie could be the smokey. Hughes and Healey have just come back from injury.

Watts couldn't possibly play school football after this. Going down in a VFL game is understandable but getting injured at school looks completely stupid.

Can we track the kid who tackled him and slap the [censored] out of it*?! :D

Terrible news for Blease, and generally for the club. Probably the best thing about football (except premierships... but I wouldn't know!) is watching young players develop. This has now obviously set him back significantly.

Still, he is 17, and when he retires in 15 years having won 3 premierships, a Brownlow and 2 B&Fs with Melbourne, none of us will remember the school-yard accident that ruined his first year in the game!

And if this has taught us anything, is that Jack Watts should be spending his lunchtimes in the library, covered in bubble wrap, with a 5m clear zone around him. Kids who dare to approach get slapped*.

*To violence against kids, Demonland says No (but Jaded says maybe... ;))!

can we please spare a thought for the kid that tackled him? he would probably feel sick in the stomach right now and will do for a very long time. he has also hamperred the chances of the school footy team as well...he would probably feel just as bad as bleasey, if not worse.

Apparently the kid who tackled him was a Rangers team mate.

This is bad news. I was dreading one of our young players getting an injuys like this.

As for people saying we should stop Watts from playing school footy now. Thats just stupid, you cant wrap the kid up in cotton wool for the next few years, the injury could have easily happened in a training session. Remeber when Spider Everitt sprained his ankle when he was walking in his backyard?

THis gives me the runs! For goodness sake, can we just get a clean run of luck of a while. Just 12 months would be good.

Injuries happen.....

Yes, it is frustrating....

Not many positives can come out of an injury to a young kid like this, but one thing is for sure..... He will be hungry as hell to get back into football once he has recovered....

And it also means he is forced to concentrate his gym work on his upper body for a while....

:P Just trying to find a silver lining...

Lets just hope Sam has a healthy recovery and is ready and prime to go for a full pre-season which he will be able to do given his schooling will be completed. Fingers crossed will be cherry ripe come November.

Sad unfortunate, but put it in a cast and get into the weight room.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Seems strange in this day in age of professional football, that listed players still attend school.

Bad luck to the kid. Hope this doesn't erode his pace, as someone mentioned that was the main reason he was drafted.

he is lightning quick, but built like a bean pole. he told me he's put on some muscle, but he needs much more.

having said that, he has great evasive skills.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

The Demons head back to Melbourne after an embarrassing loss to the Dockers to take on the Magpies at the MCG on Kings Birthday. With a calf injury to Lachie Hunter and Jacob van Rooyen possibly returning from injury who comes in and who goes out?
