Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

BB, while I appreciate what you are saying, I think it's more likely that the coaches subscribe to the "what goes around comes around" theory. If a team is respectful and shows humility it makes it that much harder for another team to find a mental weakness on which to prey.

Remember comments like "bruise free football" and Dawes saying something to the effect that Hawthorn were gettable? Those sorts of statements don't show respect or humility and can rebound against those who say them.

On the downside, if showing respect and humility means saying nothing at all in order to avoid saying anything even remotely "controversial", the media will probably just make something up to try and create something. (Insert here off-topic comment that I'm glad Rebel Wilson won her defamation action.)

True. Melksham destroyed him instead!

That is not correct as a free kick can be paid before the game starts.

15.1.3 When a Free Kick May be Awarded

A Free Kick may be awarded when the football is or is not in play. For the avoidance of doubt, a Free Kick may be awarded:

(a) if an infringement occurs on the Playing Surface before the commencement of a quarter, in which case the Free Kick shall be taken at the Centre Circle or where the infringement occurred, whichever is the greater penalty against the offending Team; and

If that's the case you can add it to the long line of umpiring stuff ups this season.

Secret is to use that tactic sparingly.

Indeed.

This won't work every week. Send a tweet to Joel Selwood or Luke Hodge and they will square up later. Just out of the umpire's view. And then they will get on with the game.

A friend of mine is a Doggies supporter and he liked a post by the official Bulldogs page so it came up on my feed. Reading through the posts most Doggies fans claim we won because of the umpires. I guess even the supporters are suffering from a hangover.

The next time there is even the slightest arrogance from any player should be during September, but be ready to play a blinder.

Whatever Bugg did, it certainly got under Easton-Wood's skin. That will have to be the worst game I've seen him play.

Agree ADC.

Wood has a lot more to answer for than Bugg. Wood carried on like a pork chop before the game and Bugg just laughed at him. He then got completely sucked in to that pushing match that resulted in the double goal. If you can find that vision after the first goal Bugg gives Wood bit of a spray and a push, he then wanders over to the goals has a look, thinks this will do nicely and stops dead in his tracks. Wood is completely wound up and does exactly what Bugg was hoping for. The result - another shot from bang in front. Afterwards Buggy is still laughing in the Bulldogs captain's face. Beautiful

This is the sh.it other clubs having being doing to us for years. Personally I love it.

One Bulldogs supporter on BF was bemoaning that even though they'd copped a drubbing, nobody was ringing callback radio on SEN to complain. I actually laughed out loud.

I'll have to check the wording but I'm pretty sure your contract with Demonland forbids you from reading other websites.

Bugg has a lot of Ballentyne about him. A player who the opposition supporter loved to hate but Freo love him and I always wanted a player like him in our team. Bugg is turning into that player.

just needs to sort out the kicking for goal part

Footy is a game.

Gamesmanship, the art of winning games by using various ploys and tactics to gain a psychological advantage, is part of playing games.

Game and set to Bug (and the MFC) on this occasion.

Kudos to all.

When Easton Wood ran out on to the ground, he was thinking about getting Bugg 'back' for his Insta post.  That means Buggy got under his skin and his focus was elsewhere.  It didn't worry Bugg in the slightest and he knew, from the moment Wood went at him before the ball was bounced, that he 'had him'.  It was great to watch.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
