Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Neville Jetta Unbelievable

Loving that he's starting to get involved in attack as well. Starting to run with the ball and use his skills. His agility and accurate little kick can be very good and you can kick it to him and he'll do his best to mark it.

From very early this year I had no qualms with his defending and now he's starting to lift in attack.

On track to become our Nick Smith.

Dare I say it.. All Australian?

With those efforts he should. He has missed four games unfortunately and doesn't get the flashy outside ball like Harbrow form the Suns and the like.

If we start winning consistently next year and he keeps his form, he has to be in the conversation.

Hi, I've just got back from the game and joined you fellow demonlanders because I'm convinced I've seen the reincarnation of the great Matthew Whelan.

Neville Jetta has been amazing this year, never thought he had it in him.

Here's a look at his games:

Essendon - Kept three time premiership champion Paul Chapman under control with Chapman only getting 18 possessions and 1 goal.

Collingwood - Kept Collingwood livewire Jamie Elliot to his lowest possession and goal count this year with 9 disposals and 1 goal.

Port Adelaide - Before Wingard got subbed, kept the new wonderkid Chad Wingard to only 5 POSSESIONS!

Western Bulldogs - Kept vastly impressive Luke Dahlhaus goalless for only the second time this year!

Adelaide - Destroyed Eddie Betts. Keept him goalless and to 8 possessions.

Sydney - Didn't have any impact with the ball but Kept the lightening quick Lewis Jetta goalless.

Since Whelan, when have we had a small defender this good.

Not only is Jetta fantastic at stopping small forwards, he uses the ball well. Even though he isn't a long kick his short passes nearly always hits the mark and he hits players in good positions.

One final wrap for Jetta, whenever he needs to lay a tackle he lands it. Today he put a Essendon player into next week!

I've joined a forum for this bloke. I've been so impressed whilst not a games, but watching him live, Wow, Roos & Jetta have created something special.

Agreed. My favourite Melbourne player ATM. 39's going on my back for sure.

I went to the first Casey game of the year funnily at windy hill.

He won the game that day IMO and I said he was the only Player that day that his actions screamed out " pick me "

His little daughter was near me in the crowd that day in her MFC jumper, she was so happy seeing her dad play so well that day.

Wonder what she is thinking tonight

Has hardly put a foot wrong since that day.

May you play every game from here on, after a miserable run of injuries you deserve it and a contract in 2015.

The amazing thing is before this year I was never a fan of Neville.

I knew he could tackle but I thought he was slow and had limited footballing ability.

It's a great story. Glad to be proved wrong.

I'm really happy for Nev. I believe the cornerstone of his game is his combination of strength and agility. Against a clever forward he can do really good jobs because his agility allows him to stay in every contest. His work overhead has been a real improvement too, which has allowed him to not be mismatched against small forwards who are good overhead, as well as to kill long balls as a third man up where needed.

Nev also plays his 50th game next week week after next, in which he will equal Gerard Healy's record for the most number of games played in jumper 39. Making history!

I am so happy for Neville Jetta. Never have I wanted a kid to "make it" more than this guy--and finally it's starting to happen for him.

Ditto I love this guy, he really wants to be as good ad he can but has had to battle injury every year. Not the most gifted but very determined to be his best. That is all we can ask.

Welcome to Demonland. Your first post is a huge winner.

Absolutely true statement and backed up with the details.

Before this post made me stop and think, I would've said "yep, really happy that Jetta is having a better season and I'd reckon if he keeps going like this he'll cling onto a spot in the 22".

Now I'm thinking Neville Jetta's improvement is a real part of why we are so much more competitive now, and he should be ranked alongside Pederson and Dunn when talking about most improved players.

Nev, he's my boy.... fantastic. I am rapt that the gamestyle came in; that suits honest footy, & footballers. accountable styled football is the key here.

phew, what a relief.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
