CASEY SCORPIONS v WERRIBEE

KC from Casey

Recommended Posts

There's an interesting little competition at the top of the VFL ladder with Casey, Williamstown and Collingwood all on 12 wins. The top two placegetters before the finals get home ground advantage in the first week of the finals. That means that every game left is important for the three contenders.

Ah yes. I see now. But why list him in the development league?

Not sure - could it maybe be something to do with VFL finals eligibility for 1s and 2s?    Funny things sometimes happen this time of year on these issues.

Max King is finished.

Saw him at one of the training camps at Maroochydore a couple of years ago.  The warning signs were quite prominent back then, and nothing I have read since has ade me change my view.

Disappointing for the kid, but he got to a stage (being recruited by the MFC) that many of us could only dream of.  Just a shame he couldn't get to the next level or two above.

Not sure either, he is still 20 turns 21 in September, point out we have actually persevered with Spencer for very little return in game time at AFL level

This kid I think came late to footy and is still growing into his 202cm frame. These guys do take time and they don't grow on trees. He would definitely get another year from me and I hope the club see it the same way. I will never forget those who wanted Hunt gone last year.

I think he has had 3 years on the rookie list Redleg. We either have to promote him or de-list him and then pick him up in the rookie draft if the club wants to keep him

Well then I would re rookie him.

I would as well, another club could pick him up which is the danger

Well I suppose that is the risk we will have to take, as it looks unlikely he will be promoted, unless we are getting rid of a few more than most think.

When your getting dropped to the  development league in your 3rd year of AFL footy you know your in serious  trouble.

There are no comparisons to Gawn or Spencer. They were both playing senior  AFL level at 19 years old. King is nearly 21 and has struggled this year.

You can just about put a line through him.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
