  2. Im more annoyed with Shuey getting off. he ignored the ball and collected Dangerfield in the head. it is bloody rubbish that it all hangs on how the player comes up. It was a dangerous act and he should not be playing against us this week. He gets off, but because Carltons medical staff talk crap that Cripps and Rowe were hurt we lost Lewis and Hogan for weeks. MRP extremely inconsistent and do not make our code look smart.

  3. Bugg typifies what we have not been for decades. Cheeky, confident, in your face aggressiveness. A serial pest. We have despised clubs like Essendon and Hawthorn for this reason. But they were successful and won flags. I love Bugg for this reason. He is so un-Melbourne. We have a new breed of young players that play to win whatever it takes. Bugg typifies that attitude. I don't care if it may sometimes backfire. Individuals and teams that take risks win games when it counts. We have often been risk adverse. Not any more. Take them on and give them hell.

  4. This is my favourite line written in the media about the game: "The Demons hunted and stalked their prey with the hunger and cheek of a pack of starved hyenas for a full 120 minutes". Jay Clark, The Australian.

  5. Two things Nev Jetta is chiselled out of rock, the Moorditj on the back of my jumper positively glowing And there is a guy called Macca at the club, if you see him shake his hand, told me weeks ago that Omac was starting to put it together and was driving him on

  7. This was the best team effort I have seen by Melbourne since 2006. A special thank you to Glenn Barlett, Peter Jackson, Paul Roos, Simon Goodwin, and Macca for turning this club around and we now have a very competitive team. Macca is a great man as couple years he was speaking at the premium members lunch where I , and next week he saw me crossing the road from Richmond station and waited for me and then walked to mcg with me. Saty is right about how Macca is involved in the development of Oscar. We are very lucky to have one of the best development coaches working with us. It is great to see us bullying the opposition and I am very excited about how far this team can develop. CARN THE DEMONS.

  9. Bulldogs have not been beaten at Etihad or in fact Victoria this year before yesterday's game. We executed a great game plan

  10. I was walking down the main street today, in my small Victorian country town, looking for some pub that would agree to switch on the dees game. I spied an old codger across the street wearing a demons scarf. I rushed across and told him we must be the only dees supporters in town. He said: "Sorry, mate. I bought this from the Op Shop to keep my neck warm." My small country town still boasts only one demonlander.

  11. So Joel Selwood elbows Mitchell's head into the turf and gets a fine. Two things. A, I wish he'd slugged him harder. B; Surely this is the clearest act of bias yet seen. Especially if Bartel was on the panel. There was talk of 'unfootball Acts'. What a joke. You elbow someone in the back of the head, slug his face into the turf and it's deemed by the likes of Bartel as a 'football act.' It's not only a farce, it's also a bloody disgrace.

  12. If I was any of Bernie Vince, Jessie Hogan, Jordan Lewis or Christian Salem I would be writing a letter to the AFL about the MRP threatening to sue. what they did was no worse than any of: Thompson, Cotchin, Selwood, Shuey, Daisy and many more. Tom Hawkins getting one week when Hogan got two for much less was also a total joke. Some players are getting the most bizarre bias from the MRP while others get hung out to dry. It makes the competition uneven and the Brownlow a joke. It's a disgrace and if i was a player that has been suspended I would be ropable. No one wants what Selwood did in our game or anywhere for that matter. Inexcusable.

  14. Lots of discussion in the media about what has happened to the Bulldogs running game. Yes, in part it is because the likes of JJ are not getting as much space, they aren't attacking the ball, have a hangover etc. But I see an elephant in the room: umpires are paying free kicks against them this year, especially throwing and incorrect disposal when tackled. This slows their game, causes a turnover and the bulldogs can't or won't run the other way. I rarely, comment on umpires but this year they need to be applauded for the more equal treatment they are giving the Bulldogs. I read somewhere they have been pinged 43 times so far this year for throwing vs 16 times for the whole of last year (26 games) The puppies are fair weather sailors really and when the wind changes they have been found out.

Takes real grit to do that. Well done guys

  29. We traded pick 23 (Pat McKenna, haha) for Frost, pick 40 (ANB) and pick 53 (Omac). Quick Sam Edmund, go and write another article about Josh Kelly and Lobb being better than Tyson, Salem and Hunt!

  30. Steady on! Paul Roos is totally biased to the Dees when commentating on Fox and Ox is unashamedly a Dees tragic on SEN.

  31. The point I find interesting in all this is that before the bounce Wood and Hunter put Bugg down twice and Wood then pushed him in the back to the ground again. All of this with an umpire a few feet away watching. How the hell is there not a free kick for all of that. Umpire just watches and does nothing. Absolute joke.

  38. Jones out isn't confirmed as far as I know. The man has missed a grand total of 5 games since his debut season and has played 109 games in a row, so I'll believe it when I damn well see it. The man is super human.

  39. No. No. They scour Demonland for advice on what to do and take all our suggestions on board, then act on them. The guys with the sports science degrees just throw all the knowledge out the window and operate on pure supporter vibe when they face a tricky problem. Often the selectors just throw the personnel programs out the window and let sentiment rule their decisions.

  40. Jack said in the post-game on-ground interview that Bugg's confidence rubs off on those around him. Tick of approval. And love that he's sold an unknowing Watts into it. Jack looked genuinely keen on the tussle today and had career-high tackle-stats till half-time.

  41. So we keep ticking them off, as someone said earlier in this thread we hadn't won at Traeger Park before and that's gone. But next week comes a very big one that I'd really love to see us break. Winning in Perth! Round 1 2004 was our last victory in Perth, let's knock this one out!

  44. Salem's been one of my favourites since his debut against the Swans. He showed a physical aggression as well as skill to make me think we had a good one on our hands. Great to see what he's been able to put together this year withour the thyroid/concussion issues hanging over his head

  45. Pedders has been such a valuable contributor this season there is no way you could possibly drop him: found his best footy at age 30 and looks to be loving the contest. Not sure about handballing while lying on your back to a small forward after taking a mark 15 out straight in front though!!

  46. I actually think the Bulldogs came to play early, and we just blew them away with aggression and good footy. We've smashed both the reigning premiers and the flag favourites on their home turfs this season without our 2 most important KPPs. That's pretty impressive.
