  1. Threads like this make me dislike some of our own supporter base sometimes.

  2. Anyone threatening to cancel membership on the back of club business decisions needs to take their toys and go home. Seriously, We are Melbourne. The members, the players, everyone. The board are just members volunteering to run our club. Your membership gives you the right to question, review and vote. It gives you the right to stand for election if you think you're a better option. But if you are no longer a member, particular in protest, you're a no one. You've resigned as a part of the club. Suck it up and support you club, vote for people to run the club and support people who are in the know to make the correct decisions.

  8. Another week where we lose the disposal count by 100 with the top 8 players on the ground all wearing yellow and black. You simply will not win games with those stats no matter how hard you try, which they did today. Recruiters deserve a big tick for Terlich. Seriously impressive today. Dawes will be a very good pick up if he can get the sloppiness out of his game. Mags should have been playing from Round 1. Infinitely more valuable than Nicholson. Davey must start every week. He will have off days but when he's on he can change the entire momentum of the game.

  9. Neeld's approach since he arrived at the Dee's was all about actions and behaviours the players were exhibiting. This is where Neeld has got it wrong. Very wrong. Think about how you act and behave when you're in a negative emotional state. Think Brent Moloney and you will see the obvious connection to his poor performance last year. He was so [censored] off with Neeld that he dropped his bundle, didn't put in and ultimately ended up at Casey playing in the magoo's. This has now compounded and infiltrated the psyche of so many other players on the list it's not funny. Neeld needs to look further past this behaviour and actions crap and actually connect emotionally with the players. Quite possibly this has started to happen a little bit lately but it's due to the hidings the boys have been getting as opposed to any foundational work that may have avoided the status quo. Feelings are created by how a person thinks and what they believe. We have a team of players that have been led to believe that they don't have enough games experience to challenge and that we're in the midst of another bottom up rebuild. How do you think the players feel about that? Must be a real challenge for them to get up just on the back of Neelds rhetoric let alone on the back of a flogging. The sooner Neeld starts talking about winning the better. This line about being 'competitive' needs shitcanning. He needs to start building the belief that these players can take it right up to any team regardless of their experience or what stage of development they're in. In summary: Thinking and beliefs.... Determine feelings and your emotional state... Which in turn determines actions and behaviours.... Which then determines results. Neeld lost the players last year and is only now starting to realise how costly his mistakes have been. Whether he has enough time to change how these guys feel about playing footy under him is the question. Will Peter Jackson identify this and put measures in place to rectify it and give Neeld time to see if he can in fact coach? The players can play footy but the coach has almost completely suffocated them with his elite standards and head master directives. They're not enjoying their footy under you, Mark Neeld. It is in fact, time to go..

  10. Mitch Clark went down like he was shot with a rolled ankle in round 1. Michael Hurely the same a few weeks ago. Anyone else want to call a guy soft. He pushed the doctors off and ran off eventually.

  13. Well it's clear that I am the problem. I am not there and suddenly we win a first quarter. Forget Neeld, it's all me. In all seriousness, that was a good first quarter. Magner is making a big difference, as we knew.

  14. Neeld just lost me!! Peter Jackson last week said the "first priority was to fix the on field first " - ie to give the supporters hope. Clubs not winning survive on hope/getting better. Then Neeld come out and say 3-5 years - It might be true, but now is not the time to say it. Talk about this week, or this year - Anything other than what he said. Not very bright.

  15. First time this year I was able to sit through a game thinking we had a chance to win, and watching the players have a genuine hard crack at the footy. If any team gets a free player across half back, something about our structure cannot stop the flow until our over-worked back six stand tall - over and over again. Hat off the Terlich, Frawley, Garland etc... Dawes is worth the money and trade. Can't wait for him and Clark to be on the park together. For those complaining about him having to stop and stand at the end of a lead, look to the kick. Rarely did he have a choice. Welcome back Aaron Davey. Like the idea of subbing him at 3/4 time. His kicking today was a masterclass. A couple of Strauss' kicks showed a similar potential. That laces out pass to Dawes - breathtaking. Magner - you should sue those people who decided to put you on the rookie list. Jones had some help in and under. If only Evans, Bail and Jetta could kick. Nicho and Jordie... I wanted to punch someone late in the game because of you two . Please listen to these two words: PERIPHERAL VISION!!!!! Dunn looked very steady. Loved it when the melee began. Boy, the Tiges are soft. Those two passages down the members wing in the last quarter were our two best passages of running football for the year. I can't believe I feel OK about a 30+ point loss.

  16. How do you have any idea how he felt? As the master pointed out above, Michael Hurley went down hard with his rolled ankle a few weeks ago. Last year Luke Ball went down like he'd done his ACL only to come back out on the field (he later did do his ACL, but from what I heard that was the second tackle, not the first). It's insulting and unfair to effectively call him soft because he got injured.

  20. Neeld's team selection and public statements are aimed at one thing. Protecting his job. If he is here in 5 years time (next season?) I will load an alpaca up with testosterone and have it gore me to death.

  25. I really haven't felt like going all week and only decided to go yesterday. Why am I going? Because thats what you do. There are a variety of reasons why people cant go but if you can its hard to have a go at the effort of players if you refuse to put in effort yourself to show them support. One day this will all turn and I refuse to be seen as someone who stopped through the hard times to then return when we start improving. Go Dees. Give'm hell.

  26. This is [censored] folks and we shouldnt buy it. Look at port Adelaide last year and this year.....suddenly their terrible list looks a whole lot better doesnt it. Neeld just hasnt built a team that plays for each other and his game style suits a group of players he doesnt actually have = bad coach. If we stay on this route all the good players will leave before that 5 yr timeframe and leave us further up the creek than we already are.....IF thats even possible. Of course he wants a 5 year window...ALL coaches want that. But he's done absolutely NOTHING that says he should get that in my opinion. Change coaches...and get someone experienced, who's got in him to build morale and uses a game plan that vaguely resembles AFL. If I have to put up with 5 YEARS of this Im seriously going to lose whatever flickering interest thats left in me!

  28. Thank you Mr Davey. If he wasnt playing we would have lost by heaps. As a Territorian I am biased but this is the best we have played this year. He had a full game.We need experience out there .Plus being able to kick to a target helps heaps.

  32. I dont care what anybody says, i was proud f the boys today. If we had Watts kicking out I reckon we would have won. They scored alot of goals from our poor skills trying t get it outside defensive fifty. Throw on Grimes and Clark and we would have had one more class player on each line. Good on you Davey, Dawes and Magner, 3 that stood out aside from the usual bunch. Very pleased with M Jones and Terlich, new additions this year who will be long term prospects.

  33. If you do a good job of rolling your ankle the initial pain is bloody painful. He eventually limped off the ground, give the kid a break FFS.

  34. When Clark comes back, this will be Dawes' job, surely. I felt Dawes had to play both FF and CHF today, had no support at all. We're bad for a lot of reasons, but I don't think our lack of targets 50-80 is the biggest one.

  35. These two get no respect, and it's a shame. They are clearly not AFL standard, but they possess qualities we lack and until someone decides to start beating down the door at VFL level, these two will be in the side more often than not. It's a pity we have to play them, but that's the way it is right now.

  36. Give us 4 competitive quarters please Dees.

  37. We worked hard for about two minutes. Endevour was there for three quarters, which is two quarters more than normal. Just shows we aren't as bad as we are playing under Neeld. Dawes was good as was Davey. Davey should be the reverse sub, play for 3 then off. He runs out of steam. Garland is brilliant. And I will never speak ill of Jamar after watching Spencer for the last two weeks.

  43. Perhaps Mark needs to get a lot better at saying nothing - like Allan Jeans. Some of what Mark Neeld has said ... "We will be the hardest team to play against" "I will give you a game plan" "Success may come a lot quicker that we think" "Don't worry about the negative headlines, just focus on the club" "You can expect these boys to be seriously competitive for longer this year" "We didn't see that coming" "Any of you people in the media got any ideas?" "The players will need 3 or 4 years to learn the game plan" "The players will need 3 full pre-seasons to get fit" ''Our aim is to be competitive for as long as we possibly can and that's where we're at,'' "It will take 3-5 years to get this team up to a competitive level" "It will take up to 5 years to rebuild" "We are at GWS level"

  44. Exactly. If he and other more senior players want to leave then five years quickly becomes, six, seven or never. This is just Bailey all over again!

  45. Absolutely [censored] weak. God I hope he gets moved on quickly. His pre-game excuses are beyond the point of embarrassing. The man would struggle to motivate Tony Robbins to get out of bed.

  46. The doggies are in trouble in the near future. They're still being carried by the same senior group who are all close to retiring. They have one player in the mid-range age bracket who is worth the effort and their kids aren't that great barring Stringer. The loss of Harbrow and Ward really hurt them in that respect, given that they would both be in the mid-age bracket and starting to lead the club by now. Once their senior players turn over they have a pretty bleak outlook.

  48. I haven't followed the whole thread but I finally caught up with the AFL360 interview last night. I accept what he said about his relationship with Neeld but I understand he had lost his interest in the club at the end of 2011 when he tried to cross to Essendon. During his season under Neeld he came across as uninterested and it was inevitable that he would go given that he had no belief in the coach and wasn't prepared to do what was necessary to comply with the coach's requirements. What I found interesting was that when the interview turned to Brisbane and the situation of Michael Voss whose coaching position was under question he said that it was up to the players to perform. A rather different attitude to the one he took with him in 2012 at Melbourne.
