Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'm pretty sure that Hogan put his hand up as a must for us to draft him today. 24 touches 10 marks and 4 goals.

How tall is he?

The 91 kg part I like.

That is one of the main reasons why I want this kid. There will be no waiting around for him to bulk up he is already there. By the time he is in 20's he will nearly be 100kg's! That's a monster of a kid and he is mobile not a blob who sits in the square.

Great point mate, we need men who are ready to go like Hogan.

Tex Walker number 2 bring him on.

Even Grundy in this years draft would be great if we dont get Hogan.

The only thing people need to remember is that the 91kgs isnt baulk muscle like Mitch Clark or Frawley. It will be alot more fat than AFL players and wont mean he is 91kg AFL strong. Yes it is a good base for now at 17 but will be more like 85 at AFL level imo. he still has a bit to owrk on before stepping up to AFL as an 18yo is all i am saying. But he has that year obviously.

True. But it's more his body size and shape that I like about him. He has that big build in the chest and upper legs. Means he is likely to become a Johnaton Brown / Barry Hall type shape once he has a few years in the system.

How old is this kid?

He would have plenty of time over the next 18months to lose 7kilos of "fat" and put back on 5kg of muscle...any excess skin folds he has currently would just be fuel for his body to burn while creating new muscle.

Hate the idea of giving GWS ANOTHER top 3 pick but it really does seem like this is the exact type of kid we need at the dees to help the climb back up the ladder

I was there today and say take him, I wasn't previously sold on giving up one of our early picks but after todays display he looked very good hada presence and a bit of arrogance.

I watched Dayle Gartlett & Koby Stevens in the seniors &

Garlett

Did a couple of nice things, kicked a great snap that was class. Has quality but IMO lacks a high work rate and doesn't look to push himself. The Swans were able to get Jetta to lift his workrate and that may happen with Garlett, but something they need to sort out at interview

Stevens

Opposite to Garlett, high workrate but lacks polish, his disposal was good when he had space but butchered it a little when under pressure. Would not use a pick above the third round for him but his work ethic and intensity are positives

Players like Hogan are a dime a dozen. I still would go for him.

We have seen time and time again that mids can be developed from within. Beams is a perfect example of this, as is Barlow.

Power forwards on the other hand can't be in my opinion. They either have it or they don't.

Sadly our last few attempts to find one have failed as our recruiter was unable to determine the difference between having it or not.

Hogan finished on 24 possessions, 10 marks, 19 kicks and 4 goals, plus 136 DT points.

As for not having the same physical advantage at AFL level ? He's not a slow bullocking key forward that is rag dolling skinny kids. He's a big agile aggressive key forward with excellent pace, who can also go into the midfield. His traits translate anywhere.

He's a gun and we must get him. Whatever it takes.

Sounds like another Buddy. :o

Just imagine our forward line with Clarke & Fitzy both who are 200cm and Hogan alongside, then Jones Howe, Viney & Blease feeding them? A few of our small forwards at their feet...swoon! Delicous thoughts

Where do we sign!

Question for all:

If we are forced to commit pick 3 to Viney, would you still consider trading (pick 4, no doubt) for Hogan?

I say get him and Viney at all costs. There will be more mids to draft next year as well. We still get a mid in Viney but I realise we need more. As Many have pointed out a Hogan type of player doesn't come along too often. Mids have and always will be readily available in drafts.

Based on what I've heard of him and the other kids available (haven't seen anything really) yes.

Players like Hogan are a dime a dozen.

Haha REALLY? Is that why we have only really had one (Neitz - and now two with Clark) at our club over the last 25 years (and probably longer). Midfielders are a dime a dozen, power forwards most certainly are not which is emphasised by you contradicting this point in the rest of your post.

I hope we get both Hogan and Martin.

But then again, I wouldn't complain with Toumpas and Wines or Stringer either.

Just out of curiosity have you seen Martin play and I am not having a go just wondering.

And not talking about TV I am talking live.

I have doubts about his workrate and attitude, any doubts I had on Hogan were washed away yesterday. Spoke to someone involved with WAFL club and Doggies are into Hogan as well and will be chasing him through mini draft

The bidding for F/S happens before Trade Week.

Adelaide is a non-player here.

Worded it wrong- I meant that GC wouldn't be able to use pick 2 to bid on Viney or involve themselves in the MD, because they would have to give it to Adelaide.

Off topic but is Tippet worth pick 2? would think GC would want change from this, Clark is as good a player and we got him for pick 12, yes it was unders for what he produced but is still very much not worth pick 2 imo.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
