That was a great game Freo v Crows. Difficult to read the Crows due their injury list but I reckon both will be near the pointy end of September.

Anyway, back to Carlton....

Jeez he’s having a good game. Works so hard.Of all the players that have left over past couple of years he’s the biggest loss or at least the one I wish we could get back.

Miss Nibs so much. He loved our club. He probably still does. I know for sure his mum does coz this was added to a birthday message from her…

🤫

Don’t tell the Adelaide cheer squad 😁

Alex Pearce is a huge defender at over 200 cm.

He's listed at 100 kg but looks more like at least 105.

Maybe his hair adds a couple of kegs.

Moves well too for a big guy.

Was a great game to watch live, a great contest. Despite being 1-3 I think Adelaide is still a contender provided they can stop getting repeated injuries.

He repaid us by stringing us along, not signing the contract he said he was going to sign, and then requesting a move to the club that was 5 minutes drive from his junior club - but never looked at him once.

As others have said, he’s the new Howe.

Out of the 4 players that left us, the McVee departure sat with me the worst. Every time I see him in a Freo jumper I hope he stuffs up, and he’s had his share of stuff ups so far.

At least with the others:

Trac - a mutual divorce that netted us some very good picks.

Clarry - we booted him out (for good reason) so you can’t bear too much ill will to him from a loyalty point of view.

Spargo - seems like a decent fella that needed another opportunity to prolong his profession.

Trac walked out on us.

No doubt we wanted him to stay.

He can GAGF

Interesting to see McVee playing as a lockdown on Rankine. Didn’t he leave Melbourne because he wanted to not be a lockdown defender?

Howe come on down, he left so he play as a forward. How did that go. I always thought it was a [censored] statement. Just a handy excuse when the real reason was he just wanted to move to the pies.

rotten first quarter

tiges clueless

I just saw the end of Q1 ... terrible match. Port are very ordinary ... Richmond even worse.

Richmond are insipid. I guess the writing was on the wall when they couldn't mow down Carlton after giving them a six goal head start.

yeah, they've seen the peptides and the baggers and said 'hands off our #1 pick'

Stuff watching this rubbish. I'm going back to paint the front fence.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
