NON-MFC: Round 04

Featured Replies

So annoyed, fell asleep at 3/4 time. Woke up with 2 minutes to go. Missed all the fun.

I am a bit sad for Voss - I don’t think he is a good coach but he was inspirational back in his playing days. Carlton can suck it though.

i know Voss will ultimately pay but where were Carltons on-field leaders in the last quarter

Crows in Adelaide next week for the Blues.

Honestly, does it matter? They could win the next four on the trot, it would just be a temporary remission before an unlucky moment or a game they are entirely outclassed in rips open the mental scars again.

It's hard to say just how much needs to be burned to the ground at Carlton, but it is a lot.

at least they won't have to worry about burning early picks to select andrew walker's kid - they're going to be picking very, very early in 2026 at this rate

This feels like the Saints game for us last year that was the writing on the wall for Goody. There is no way they can continue on this path. This is the fire starter that should spark change. Bye bye Voss, time to go.

It's a bit too early in the year for an interim coach but I suppose that because they have Simpson in the wings they might think about it.

The game delivered the drama that the media thrives on.

What a pity they don't play Essendon until June 7

A new coach won't help

They've got a very tough run over the next 2 months. Need a miracle

They might get one new-coach-bounce-back win but that will be it

They're either not fit enough or it's between the ears. Or both

Yeah I feel for him too. His leaders let him down again.

Other than that...it's farkn funny to see 😁

he's already said that he wouldn't look at carlton for years now as he's been serving as mentor for voss

said on sen during the week that he couldn't do that to him

Same, loved him as a player and Carlton are making him look terrible

Wardlaw 11 tackles almost the difference on his own Will be their skipper one day He is great to watch

No matter who your team is, you just want to see fight and north were manic in the last 5 mins

if he stays...

jungle drums were beating when he was struggling with injury, but he's just a talismanic player for them

I mean, who takes pleasure in another’s teams demise?

Just emphasising that great players don’t translate to great or even good coaches

Why would Simpson want to do it though? It won’t lead to a long term senior gig at Carlton, and it would almost certainly disqualify him as a potential mentor at other clubs.

If I was him I wouldn’t go near it. There’s no upside.

Carlton should have a big enough half-time lead to coast home from here.

Famous last words.

You have to feel sorry for the long suffering Carlton supporters.

Said nobody ever.

Lmao..

Sheezle: “I genuinely had belief we would win at the three quarter time huddle”

Translation: Carlton are [censored] and we were never losing.

Carlton 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
