Harvey Langford Re-Signs Until 2029

I’ll reserve my judgment until 2030 as to whether or not this is a good decision.

Will help the Tim Lamb thread!

Great news!

(Just on the photo - I'm sad to say, that's what happens when the government doesn't fund public education and children are literally grilled inside un-air-conditioned, roof-less portables.)

To my knowledge, Harvey re-signing was not announced or speculated by any media before the club announcement.

Guerra said he'd put a stop to leaks and on the evidence so far, it's going well.

Hard to fault that signing length wise. We don't know the salary but if he plays in 2026 like he did in 2025 it could be a bargain.

Should have signed him for nine years. Just to rile Kane and the long-contracts-are-mad chimps.

I raised this on the contracts thread last week.

Aside from winning games this year (and the training venue stuff), this was our biggest project of the season. Players like Langford that were out of contract at end of 2027 were ripe for the Tassie pickings as they debut in 2028.

Well done MFC!

Effectively a two year extension. Good for us and keeps him out of Tassie's clutches - he was on their hit list!

Excellent news. Future superstar. Great to lock him away out of Tassies reach. Looking forward to watching him continue to grow this year!

Like all Dee supporters very happy with Harvey Langford extending until 2029, he has what it takes in Spades.

Bloody Tim Lamb's at it again. 🤦

Very promising player. Delighted he’s signed up for the next 4 seasons

I actually think it will be easier to sign young players with Tassie looming large coz I don't think many 20 year olds will want to live in Tassie.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tassie, but I'm old and like Pinot and Mona and wilderness and I actually think in Harvey's case it was more the case of there is a strong bond forming with the youngsters in the group and they are on the verge of an exciting period (hopefully). Also the "clean" air left by the departures of giants of the football club means they can make it their club.

Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
