"Rude" in my day used to cover all sorts of innuendo. "Trite" was a cop out.

I did say perhaps. What do you think? Baloney?

I don’t think it’s baloney at all… for all we know, I could be as old or even older than you 😉, although if the 1947 in your profile name is your year of birth, you do win by 5 years 😁

In this case I believe ‘trite’ is appropriate… particularly as the comparing of a footballer’s onfield performance (or lack of) with ‘being in the trenches’, is somewhat trivialising something as serious as trench warfare.

Anyway, it was a tongue in cheek comment and is definitely not the first time this point has been made on Demonland over the years. Let’s just leave it at that.

When do we farewell the Farewell threads?

If Trac played his cards right he really should have been the next captain of this footy club, but perhaps it was more about him than the team.

Was amazing in the grand final and I will be forever grateful for that and some of his better performances , but on far too many occasions his disposal and goal kicking attempts were well below par and if you look at why we failed in finals after 21 our wasteful ball use played a big part in that.

The last 2 years demonstrated quite clearly why he was not captaincy material. When the going got tough, he headed for the exit.

He gave great service and we hit a very good return for him so he owes us nothing but he was never a potential captain.

Uncalled for, perhaps rude.

Yet you continually describe the game's officials and the media as "maggots".

Let he who is without sin cast the first Demonstone (or something like that).

Which is one of the reasons he was let go.

Superstar, club great.. but become self absorbed, ultimately offered nothing from a leadership point of view. Heard a horror story about a new player coming in and wanting to shadow him and his response.

Go to GC. Cook packet pasta and enjoy IG with posts with your nonna followers

Not just the media. I also include the umpires in that context as well. It's not as if, by sheer coincidence the umpires and the Media have copped a year that they would want to put right out of their minds. With instances of charges being laid and public spats between long time companions of the sport swearing, threatening and castigating each other quite regularly.

The bottom line is they have had a very bad year, whether it be with recurring discrimination, racism or obfuscation.

Wouldn’t expect one from Claz as we forced him out pretty much

He's probably just trying to find the right ghostwriter DD. Maybe you should put your hand up @Ghostwriter ?

What happened....? 🫣

Heard he told a first year player he didn’t have time for it.

wouldn't expect clarry to put out a coherent statement, but isn't that part of what managers are for?

After seeing him kitted out today in Sergio Silvagni's old shorts l think he could now fairly be labelled "Traccta".

Thought Trac was going to be our next leader & after the injury he would bounce back and turn it all around, shame to hear him not wanting to put the effort into our young guys and not offering much leadership on field - even saw a post today that he was looking forward to playing/working alongside Bailey Humphrey, he rubbed salt in the wound for sure. As days go on, I’m [censored] off at how it ended with Trac and Clarry, probably more the fact that deep down they probably resent the MFC and they just want to see us suffer. Anyway vent over.

He actually said he had spoken of his will to work with Humphreys a few days ago. Wonder if this was before the close of trade period and if he was telling him to stay at GC.

Is there anything to support this?

Already a poster is quoting this as a fact and it will soon be quoted widely on DL as true.

Wouldn't the fact he wants to help BH contradict the comment that he didn't have time at the Dees?

Maybe he just didn’t give a rats about anyone at the Dees

Post it, bd.

Cropped screenshot works best. Least file size.

Again that is just an empty accusation!

People are now just making stuff up.

BTW the way, l wish him well but he is definitely a different version to '21. It was on the news.

That would be very disappointing if true

Something shifted in him after the injury what exactly who knows, I remember seeing him at the last game in 24 wearing a cap head down like I just don’t want to be here…. There’s pain and anger in us & I can’t read or look at him talking up GC etc,

Someone posted can we close this thread .. we should move on,

Hawks lost Buddy and won a 3peat.. he’s no Buddy but one player dosent make a team & Buddy didn’t win a flag with the Swans in 10yrs!

At the end of all this my opinion of Petracca the person isn’t high. Personally I think he’s a complete [censored]. See ya!

Learn to kick you overpaid PrimaDonna.

Personally I'm glad I never have to watch him burst form a stoppage and sky the ball to the opposition ever again. Except when he plays us, in which case he's welcome to do it.

I had a flick through his cookbook today. It's actually not bad but I'm not buying it. Not giving him my money.

I hold no grudge towards him. We know he wanted out.
