At one point it was sign him up..... Bit disappointed they didn't interview him before the games (It wasn't on kayo)

Good signs that have been there later in the latter part of the year. A few small tweaks in where players played including seeing max was resting forward at a CB at least once (I only had kayo to watch)

Lost of skill and polish to support the great running, it what was not a high pressure game from the dogs.

Windsor looks much better in his natural position, pity he'll most like;y miss the last 2 games.

Bowey forward was interesting. His precise kicking stood out.

Was great seeing Bowey forward, I've been wanting one of him, Salem or McVee across half forward for 2 years. We need some clean entries inside 50 and he offered it.

Adams was good early but got found out as the game wore on. Went to ground too often and too easily pushed out of contests.

Viney was Viney, all heart but an absolute butcher of the ball.

Unfortunately 2021 is getting further and further away in the rear view mirror for our much vaunted midfield trio.

Beveridge has got more spin than murali, that’s our “greatest win ever” according to him.

You barely got past a team well below u with the umps fully in support. If I were him I’d be banking the points and not trying to sensationalise a poor effort. I mean their defence simply won’t be able to stop any top 8 side.

Maybe he’s trying to salvage what he knows is another wasted season by erroneously praising what was really a lucky escape.

Gawn was our standout and the drop off is significant after that but we held our own. BUT you just knew that was always going to be the outcome.

Petracca Viney and Oliver were just all astonishing average and uninspiring as they have mostly been all year.

Pretty proud of the effort today. But it does sadden me how quickly our best players have dropped off. Petracca in particular. I really hope a new coach brings new energy and identity for these three.

Super proud of McDonald, Disco, Culley, Pickett, Gawn, Fritsch and even Petty today. They all played a role in keeping us in touch.

Petracca almost lost his life last year. Perhaps that's an exaggeration but if he believes it surely that'll affect his on-field confidence. Also if players are meant to be in peak physical condition wouldn't a month or two of being an invalid affect that? He may improve a lot next year. Fingers crossed

Well all things aside that was a great game to watch after half time, in the end it should have been a draw. We worked so hard for our goals and nearly won it whereas at times they seemed to score to easily. That third quarter we had the momentum and looked the real deal but not able to sustain it just yet, a lot to look forward to if we play with that level of endeavour. Shame Windsor did his hammy, Culley is a diamond in the rough and all our younger brigade came to the party. Disappointed but proud nonetheless.😁👍

It was a shame about the final outcome and I really wish we would sort out our inability to win close games but I actually really enjoyed today. We played fast, free flowing and daring football. I haven't seen us play with such an attacking mindset all year.

I'd much rather lose a game trying something new than repeatedly losing games playing the exact same style.

Well, I didn't like losing, but if that is the way we plan to play, I am sure we will win more than we lose. I can't help feeling we lack a focusing presence up forward. Petty was good, but we got lucky a few times, kicking high and long to Melk & Fritch. Max marking in the goalsquare scares backmen. It is early days, but Kentfield at Casey could be the one. Big, strong, can take a pack mark and takes no prisoners.

Culley has been a surprise, but sometimes it is harder playing in a lower team to get a kick. His 2 games have been impressive. Windsor has shown how bad a decision it was to play him down back. He is a mid and adds pace to the midfield, as does Kozzie. Just need to tidy up their disposal. My other take is that 10 disposal nothing games aren't contributing enough, especially if you don't kick goals. Yes I am talking about Chandler & Sparrow. They need to do more and get more involved.

It is evident that Goody's game style that won a flag is outdated and you need pace, precise kicking, disciplined structure and run and gun play.

P.S. Max is simply awesome.

Yeah we lost but that's the most entertaining game I've seen us play since the flag probably.
Coincidence ...... I think not.

Chappy’s presser was a breath of fresh air, nice to hear a different voice and he was genuinely happy to be in the game.

A lot to like on a day where we were far from good for many parts

I've been trying to think what made this a good perfornamce from us. After all, the game was riddled with skill errors as usual, poor kicking into 50 and if we're honest quite a few players below par on their output.

Its easy to see a close result like this and instantly lavish praise on the loser for their gallant effort. The Dogs were pretty inaccurate and the umpiring despite what anyone says was even or probably favoured us. Some pretty crazy bounces of the ball resulted in a couple of good goals for us too, the pessimist would day we were just lucky.

But I refuse to think this was juat catching the Dogs on an off day or luck, there was something about thia performance that deserved its accolades and for the last hour I was trying to figure it out. And then..

Bang!

This was a good performance from Melbourne because they stuck with the game plan that they've been trying to achieve all year. There were skill errors yes, there were bone headed plays yes, there was a lack of discipline at times yes, but unlike any other game this year their commitment to the game style and the way we want to move the ball was unwavering. Even when we stuffed it up we would go again and again and again.

This was all I wanted in the last 6 weeks. I didnt care about mistakes, I just wanted to see us commit to this and not revert to bombing down the line and going slow. I don't think there was one time today where I saw a player caught in the midst of indecision, they trusted the process.

For that I have to give the guys my kudos, do that in the last two games and I'll be good with it.

Agree. That was a wild take from Bevo. It was a good game, but there’s no defending their defensive effort. We kicked 100 points, and Koz only kicked One.

I imagine his constant selling is exhausting to their fans.

Maybe I misheard but I thought he said it was “one of” their best wins. I think it mostly related to their ability to come from behind twice in the last qtr to win in a very important game for them. He gave us a lot of credit during the presser

Agree. I was at the game and drawn into the contest of course, so I need to look at the replay but my overall impression is we were mostly outrun by the Dogs and should have been overwhelmed but we stayed in the contest with numerous intercepts inside D50 with quick movement forward. And it was the unpredictability of our forward entries that allowed us to score when we needed to. For once Melk and Fritsch could use their mobility and smarts to greater effect. And we didn’t have opposition KPDs intercepting and marking at will in the drop zone from our normal and repeated, predictable long hack kicks forward.

Only caught the 3rd & 4th quarters (still on euro time) and it was an entertaining game and the Dees can take lots of positives out of it. Any new prospective coach woulld be watching and thinking "I have something to work with here ...".
