Congratulations on joining an elite group of Melbourne greats this weekend!

I think he'll play plenty more than 300. He is an absolute professional in how he clearly looks after his body around his training and recovery.

He's also talented enough as a player to spend more and more time up forward where he'll still provide an impact for the team and reduce his midfield minutes as he ages.

Putting aside some emotive thoughts we all might have during his challenging period with the club and his recovery from a horrific injury, the bloke has been an incredible footballer and go down as a Demons great if he finishes his career with us.

If I was able to get there Sunday I'd be cheering him with every possession and will always reflect with great love in his 2021 GF efforts.

Congratulations Trac

Absolute champ both as a player and teammate.

Will play to 300 no doubt and hope he is BOG on Sunday.

Trac a Demon great and plenty left in his career.

Thanks for your 200 Trac and all the best in your cooking exploits also.

💙❤️🏆

Knock on wood here, but we've had a good recent record when our boys have played their 200th.

T Mac - win over St Kilda in 2022 at the G

Gawn - win over Hawthorn in late 2023 at the G

Viney - close win over Port during the "business trip" of 2024.

T Mac and Clarry are scheduled to play their 250th and 200th on the same night against Carlton (or maybe the game before or after??)

Salem will play his 200th during week 1 of the finals 😀

i hope this encourages people to pay respect to one of our greatest and come out to watch a good win, but then again iam sure we will still get an average to poor crowd :/

Based on what- the decent crowds we've had this year?

We get enough ill informed rubbish from the media about crowd size without fans feeding misinformation too.

We’ve got one of the best member to attendance ratios in the competition you peanut.

I was pretty disappointed with the way Christian handled himself towards the end of last year.

But credit where it’s due, he’s put his head down, bum up, gone to work and re-invested in his footy club.

Congratulations on the milestone Melbourne’s only Norm Smith medallist, may there be plenty left to come 👏

I've been watching the Dees for almost 6 decades now, and Petracca rates inside the top 10 I have seen. He has a quality that few demonstrate - match winning ability. He can turn his power game on for a quarter, or a half and sometimes an entire game, and totally dominate stoppages and clearances.

I think it was in one of the 2021 finals games, or maybe our round 23 win and the Cats, where he said he was proud to help Dees fans find pride and joy in the jumper and colours again. He had me lock, stock and barrel after that.

Most importantly, a real good human being. Warm personality, big smile, big heart.

It is a pure privilege to welcome him to the MFC 200 games club.

200 for tracca. I must be effin old !

It has been said he is getting back to his best , really hope this is true. I personally did not see his possessions last weekend.

But I do look towards the younger guys.

31 possessions was it. Well I hope his mate CO13 and JV7 stand tall and also have a blinder. If we win this one, Then look out, finish in top 8 . Anything is possible.

Can we do it, Yes we can, go for it Tracca

We've been lucky to have him in this period..a true professional and someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. Who will ever forget THAT goal in the GF and I can still his face directly after.

We love you Trac...shine on champion. Lets get a win for him in his 200th

Watched him play for VIC Metro vs WA at Leederville Oval in his draft year and loved what I saw, as he moved up to the pointy end towards the draft I was sure the Saints, would take him, so glad we got and still have him.

Congratulations Trac

Hopefully the Demon Army can sneak a little thank you to St Kilda on the banner laugh

Just listening to this - esp the bit about "it's not about the wins and losses" is so inspirational. Need to have this guy leading us into the future in a managerial/entrepreneurial role.

I'll always love and respect Trac, whether he finishes his career with us or not. It sounds like he's keen to stay put thankfully.

Forever a Melbourne superstar, premiership player, and Norm Smith medalist.

  • Demonland changed the title to Christian Petracca 200 Games

" Im a Melbourne person through and through"

Forget about the media noise...this guy is staying with us now. Hopefully leading us to our next flag.

Max Gawn, in my mind, has the rite too captain and lead this club forever, if it were possible! After listening to tracca in the interview for his 200th I feel like he’s ready and committed to help lead our Dee’s into the future. Maybe the big fella and his gold nugget vc step aside and make our million dollar boys Capt and vc.

Apologies if it is thought provoking (it’s the heat in Agnes W) but I laughed at the thought too, but here, I’ve put on record.

How good is it to see the Dee’s playing good cohesive footy again albeit with too many mistakes at the moment🤙❤️💙❤️💙

One of the best Melbourne players in the history of the game. It has been such a treat watching him apply his trade over the past 10 years. Congratulations. Hope there is much more success towards the backend of his career

Congrats to a modern great of the MFC and the AFL world at large.

Clearly Christian went through a very traumatic experience last year and his mindset was clearly impacted by that towards the end of last season.

From what I've seen from him in interviews this year, he looks fully invested in the club.

I think Christian will be staying with us for a while yet.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • PREGAME: Gold Coast

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
