@Demonland Can I please put in a request for the return of the Facepalm emoticon 😉

A better emoji would be a thumbs down.  Right now there's no quick way to show you disagree with a comment.  You can wow, angry, cry or vomit, which is puerile, but you can't simply and quickly disagree.  There are 9 emojis and only about 3 most people would ever use.

Hey Kev, I don't think it was petulance that the track watchers observed here.

"I sense a subtle/carefully planned petulance to Christian’s approach at the moment." @The Jackson FIX

Perhaps they weren't at the training.

Part of the dialogue though, and the feeling that Tracc is going about it in a "funny" way.

I apologise for any inferences to the Mansfield trackers.

Go Dees

There's something off with Trac at the moment. I watched him closely this morning, he's not acting his usual self out on the track. It's like he's trying to be super professional but trying not to enjoy himself or buy in, that's the vibe I'm getting. Also have a look at his post on IG from last pre season compared to now. He refuses to acknowledge the club or any team mates in any social media.

Maybe listen to Spargo’s radio interview on RSN …only positive vibes re Clarry & Trac…

I watched Tracc at the last Gosch's training, not closely. Appeared fine to me once he got over a bit of anxiety. My guess about the observations from Mansfield is that he is keeping a low profile. He is an emotional person, and maintaining an outward aloofness will keep those emotions in check.

What do those reading a disturbance in him want from him?

It really is about how he relates with the other players. He probably has a few relationships to build on and up. To suggest his body language is telling of a disengaged person, with all that he has to mend and deal with, is just speculative and rumour mongering.

This…thank you. How many other social media post etc from other MFC players have we seen …he is actually just one of many . I’m more interested watching /hearing about our new recruits & younger players. They are the ones who will lift us up the ladder..we know what we can get from our older brigade.

Observations: what i see

Confirmation bias:  creating meaning from observations to fit my belief system or narrative.

Unless you ask him, anything beyond the observation is useless.

All of this Trac is unhappy/brand focused etc inference is without any basis.

So any observations made by track watchers on players, whether good or not so good, are distorted by "confirmation bias"? Or does this only apply to comments regarding Tracc?

There are probably many explanations for his “perceived” behaviour. One is that people are seeing things that just aren’t there. A second is that it’s the other players that are acting cool towards Trac - perhaps they haven’t forgiven him completely yet.

Agree with the second sentence (not the third). This Trac-watch fetish is just silly - reading every of his smirks/smiles/half-smiles/frowns as if it tells us something portentous. FFS!  Better off reading a book, or getting on with life.

Observations are awesome!  Direct feedback shared by players is great (like WCW/GW provided).  It’s when there are arguments here over ‘what it means’ that this devolves into sewer sludge.  My ‘narrative’ vs yours?  Glass half full vs glass half empty?  I can’t tell which is right.

it goes for all reports, its just this Trac focus is strong right now.

its ok to wonder, suggest or discuss a possibility, but certainty is no-ones friend when meaning is being imagined…

For me this easy.

Full = 100% & 1/2 of 100% is 50%. AKA half full

Empty = 0 (or 0%). 1/2 of 0 is still 0. AKA half nothing

Hit me up if you want to know the meaning of life 😉

The Brand will be our best player everytime he takes the field. Keep him fit and we’re a chance. The rest is just noise from noisy and/or nosey supporters

Great to see the club using youngsters in promos.  Hopefully, they are on the club's social media pages as well.

Kolt might be up there with Kozzie as king of the kids!

Just listened to the Charlie Spargo interview.

I realised I had never heard him speak before, and isn't it funny?  - His voice is nothing like I expected it to be. And also, no offence to the bloke, and  I hope I'm allowed to say this here, but he looks like a bit of a dope, but gee, he certainly doesn't sound like one! Mature, intelligent, very well-spoken - I am impressed!

I was amazed that he needed to have his leg above his head for 22 hours/day post surgery to aid recovery - what commitment that is - many things we don't get to see or hear about. Hope he makes it back on field this year.

When Tracc wins the Norm again in our 2025 flag, a few on here should be feeling a bit sheepish about everything.

Whichever way you lean regarding BP5, voicing that opinion on here is hardly going to affect his decision making or demeanour regarding the MFC. I mean, if you had his social media content manager would you spend any time on here?

Ok, again, I am not trying to argue against voicing that opinion on Demonland, I am trying to argue against that opinion wherever it is voiced.

Presumably, I am reaching people that live in the real world? That might impact even in a small way the proliferation of the toxic and tedious environment that has been created…

I  felt burnt by Trac, but every time I dwell on it I remind myself that for my 50 odd years supporting the Dee's I have wished we had a superstar onballer.  We now have two (three if you count Max), and that is a generational thing.

Go Trac. Go Clayton. Go Dee's!

I feel 'petulance' is the wrong connotation in Tracca's case. A massively critical injury with further complications is far more critical than a recovery from 'soreness', a 'disease' and/or serious bruising or other impact conditions. That he has resumed training with a purpose only he can provide, in such a short time for 'full' recovery, speaks volumes for the kind of athlete that he has been, is now and will be after absolute, full recovery beyond mere readiness to put the boots on, again.

I'd take it all a little carefully over time, well beyond readiness to get fit and well without further complications in a period of a couple of months alone.

Now is not the time to interpret and suggest his supposed tardiness towards full training is only half-hearted. That assessment can only be made months in advance of now but I am sure, and faithfully believe, no such negative assessment on his attitude is involved. I just know that he is itching to burn those shackles that perhaps are still lingering in his readiness, his current performances and his overall well-being as preparation for the season to come - when that season comes.

Christian is more important than this current moment. His best footballing role is more important sometime in the not-too-distant future - far more important than any other player or team demand.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
