  1. My brother and I both live in Adelaide and went last night to support our beloved Dees, and their supporters were worse than ever. Fans around us all squealing for free kicks even when we pointed out how lopsided the free kick count was, booing players for no reason, and basically saying how bad their own team was and then aggressively abusing our players. They are a disgrace. Worst in the league. We kept offering tissues every time they booed Rick Lever, and bronx cheered all of the 9 times we got a free! Stuff em. Hope they go zero and 10, sack the coach and head to the bottom of the ladder for the next decade.
  2. May and Melksham won't be there, so a trip to a winery/restaurant should be fine.
  3. Could Tommo come in and go forward to nullify Sicily? Have we tried him forward in the last 2 years? Probably one too many tall "plodders", but feel for him after his round 1 game.
  4. I think it is possible that 2 of Tmac, Brown and Fullarton play. The Doggies backline is very undersized and probably their weakest line. Might it be that 2 of those 3 play and play forward, along with JVR to stretch them and stand under our "woeful forward entries"?
  5. Imagine the squabbling on here if we get done..............
  6. Yes I know, but I love reminding them of the fact about the crows existence in Adelaide. They pretty much just boo at you because they can't really understand what I'm saying.
  7. I'm a lifelong Dees fan, but have lived in Adelaide for 20 years. Most of you may say unfortunate, and I'd agree that the city itself doesn't offer a great deal apart from big blocks, little traffic and is great to raise a family. 20 minutes to an hour out of the city and it is simply unreal. Adelaide Hills, Wineries, Restaurants, very few people and some of the countries best beaches. Gets a bad wrap I think. Visit with a local and you will have a different view. I also detest Adelaide Crows supporters. Not only do they have no idea about the rules, boo everything, and are horrifically one eyed, they are also unaware that the name of their team is factually incorrect. There are no crows at all south of Port Augusta (3.5 hours north of Adelaide). All ravens........... Haven't seen many demons in Melbourne before mind you. Not before midnight anyway. Anyway congratulations Tom Sparrow.
  8. Seem to recall a lot of last years first few round games being pretty scrappy and pretty high pressure. Pretty low scores as well. Could be completely wrong of course, no basis, apart from an ordinary memory. But if this happens again this year, and given we're on a smaller ground tonight, I'm expecting a close margin.........in our favour mind you.
  9. More likely would be TMac to free up Lever/May against their 3 tall forwards. Even that's a stretch. Pun intended.
  10. What a surprise, Tim Watson doesn't like us. We don't like you either Tim, so it's mutual.
  11. Sorry, my apologies. 6:40pm local yes agreed.
  12. I'm of the understanding that the VFL game starts at 10:30am and will be non-attendance. The AFL game starts at 5:40pm and will be open to attendance.
  13. I liked what I saw from Verrall in the match sim against Richmond. If he gives Max a rest either forward or on the pine for 30% of a game, that is a good result I reckon.
  14. I see what you're saying but I reckon we give Rod Grinter the job
  15. Oh dear. Curse of Norm Smith has reared it's ugly head again ever since Gus was knocked out last. Go away Norm you [censored]! Thanks Gus, you absolute legend!
  16. 100% agree with you. People expecting to see the guys hit a leading player aka Harmes to Fritsch in the 2021 GF every single time there is a contest.
  17. Watched the whole 7 periods on replay last night. Reason for most of Richmond's goals were sloppy turnovers from us, or poor ball handling aka. May fumbling, turning over and them goaling. Thought the ball movement when we were scoring goals was pretty good and our depth of forward 50 entries was good. JVR leading up and very nearly clunking quite a few was promising for early in the season. To everyone saying we have to stop bombing into the forward 50, but they think we're a tall forward or two short down there, we can't have it both ways. The tall forwards want the ball coming in high or so they can get a run and jump at it. Everyone saying we need to lower our eyes and hit up targets, means forget the tall forwards, just play smaller guys and look for them to lead to space/ball carrier. Which by the sounds of it no one wants that either. Pressure on in the contest and the ball carrier on the wing for example, means they might have to put the ball on the boot quickly and therefore go long and high into the forward 50. We can't expect the ball to be coming in fast with space all the time, given our high-contest game, and opposition zone defences. Sounds like people want perfect leads and passes every time. Not realistic. I actually think the bigger issue is the separation of our tall forwards. To me it seem like they're always flying for the same ball. Easy for defenders for mine. Get separation and try and create a one-on-one and back our guys in. As the commentators were saying during the broadcast, we were top 5 for inside forward 50 efficiency (score per entry) during the home and away season last year, and top 5 for scoring in general. That obviously wasn't the case in the two finals we lost, but also, saying our method is completely useless is also not true. Tweak it yes. Say it doesn't work and completely change the way you play. Pretty stupid.
  18. I don't know many, if any clubs that have multiple key forwards and ruckmen lining up to get into the senior side.......
  19. I don't know why, but I thought it might be a good idea to watch the second half of the Semi loss to Carlton. Put quite simply we were very unlucky to lose that game. Ask any Carlton fan with half a brain (hard to find) and I'm sure they would admit they were lucky to pinch it as well. Couple of costly misses including a poster from Kozzie. That was basically without a key forward to kick "down-the-line" to as well. Some luck with injury, a few new additions, and a more central, quicker ball movement approach and I'm confident we can be there at the pointy end again.
  20. I live in Adelaide and took my son to the Dees vs Essendon game. Horrible day. Poured with rain, we lost, my son lost his favourite Max Gawn card, and I caught gastro from the ground.............Pretty reluctant to go next year especially having to share with the most one eyed, negative bunch of booing morons in Crows fans.
  21. Up there with death and taxes.
