Why do the Afl do often get the entertainment wrong.

Why do we have cooked oseas acts?

We have lots of great entertainment here in Oz.

Not like the Superbowl are checking in here for performers.

Katy Perry.... please. Wth.

Each side should have their own GF parade. One down Clarendon St and the other down Brunswick St, meeting in the city centre.

Can’t see Sydney losing this. They will be so much fresher than Brisbane who have just come off two hard emotionally draining finals. Plus McInerney out gives Grundy a huge bonus. And how great will it be to see Zorko having a blubber post game, maybe Petts could give him a call

I was dreading a Syd v Gee granny… legitimately wouldn’t have cared about the result between those two and was questioning if I even really wanted to waste an afternoon watching that game.

At least with Brisbane there’s a chance of a team that hasn’t won it for 20 years to win it and be redeemed from last years loss.

Sydney as a club just bore me to tears. I don’t hate them, they’re just so, meh

I am just glad Geelong are not playing.

I’m new here after perusing for 18 years, but I gotta be honest... Couldn’t believe the amount of support for the smug pr!cks that is Brisbane. I detest Geelong, but at least if they make the GF, the likes of Dangerfield have already won one, so it lessens the disdain.

Hopefully Sydney wins and keep the likes of Zorko, Hipwood, Andrews, McCluggage, Answerth and Neale premiership-less. Far too many unlikeable players in spite of apart of me would be happy for Fagan.

Stupid Hypothetical: we don't pick up Fullarton. Does he get a run in the GF for Brissy?

(Not to mention our list management impact on Sydney's ruck stocks)

I really hope for Fullarton’s sake that he would have been behind Forte and Smith in the ruck depth if he were still at Brisbane this year.

Otherwise, it would have been a yes to your good question. He’s probably pondering the question as well.

I think they would sooner run Daniher in the ruck than that scenario.

Maybe lions should ask Fullerton to be the replacement ruck 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'd be happier if it actually was South Melbourne v Fitzroy.

Well it really is just that. Just a change of location. I know a lot of old Fitzroy supporters who have continued to support the Lions ever since they went to Brisbane.Just think, if Melbourne went interstate would you stop barracking for them? I certainly wouldn't.

My band is playing in Canberra on the afternoon of GF Saturday from 3pm, so I’m going to miss watching it.

The challenge for us is to avoid any contact with people who might be following it during our performance, so that we can all watch it later on in the evening (our pedal steel player lives close by in Sutton and has Kayo), as if it hadn’t already happened.

Fortunately the venue, Smith’s Alternative, has no TV screens on the premises.

It absolutely is not

While Souths moved to Sydney, Brisbane absorbed the bones of the Lions into the Bears - they have NOTHING to do with Fitzroy

It was a complete corporate takeover, not a merger

I backed the swans to win the flag  after their 112 point thumping by Port.

My only stress about the GF is whether to lay off and back the lions- and still make a healthy profit if they win.

Genuine 50/50 game imo

The Brownlow has become a bloated borefest and is best avoided, but I'm looking forward to the GF and hope it doesn't turn out to be a one-sided affair.

It's my first year as a MCC Full member, was not a part of the GF ballot.

Any idea what time someone would need to rock up to get a seat for a Sydney v Brisbane final?

It will be more entertaining and stimulating reading the Demonland Brownlow thread tomorrow morning instead of watching the presentation on live TV.

Good luck hardtack, the sport result blackout exercise is harder than ever to pull off these days.

Chances of JJ being the sub?

I think him getting a played role in a premiership is my sole interest in this game.

My interest otherwise was fulfilled with the exit of Geelong.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
