Housebound and your TV broken?

This game is a proper 'throwing rocks at eggshells' game. Go hard and we could absolutely shatter them, and the rest is details.

He has been told he must attend.
If anyone wants to win the flag in 2025 and wants to fork out $700 for a membership for him so he can attend finals, we will accept 😂

Well we went to Alice last year to watch us lose on the last kick of the day in pouring rain and 8C. This year we went to Perth and saw us get belted by WC who are hopeless.

I'm tendering our services to all interstate teams next year and the one who comes up with best travel, accommodation and dining package will receive our services. A small price to pay for a guaranteed win.

I know to us it's not but to the football world we've got a free hit. Hit them hard from the first bounce and don't let up. The last quarter scares me but the rest is milk and honey. Dees by 22...

I’ll even throw in a foot-rub and a charcuterie and a bottle of *Penfolds Bin 95 'Grange' Shiraz 1998 (Magnum) in the limo.

*clueless about wine so hadda Google ‘most expensive wine’ and this one goes for $2,350 a pop! The website says ‘free delivery’!!!! I should bloody think so! At that price I’d expect Brad Pitt to deliver it. 😅

He doesn’t drink, besides the very rare beer. He also would prefer a pizza 😂

I'm continuing to hope that the "hunter" v "hunted" mindset shift helps us. I was hoping it would vs Brisbane and it did.

This is another relatively rare game (for 2021-24) where we're underdogs, and indeed it feels like no one out there thinks we can win, let alone will win (Gawn out obviously a factor there). That lack of expectation, indeed the opposite, hopefully lifts the pressure off. And the opposite for them.

No Gawn definitely adds to the unpredictability. A win would be awesome as we’ll only need to go 3-3 to make the 8 from next week.

Should be right in this up to our eyeballs, my main concern is umpire 22 who seems to pull out puzzling decisions for the opposition which leaves you with NFi  what it was for.

Yes you CAN, Daniel. Why can’t we win???? Come on… start believing and it’ll happen.

Personally I’m totes looking forward to losing $100 (which I can ill afford) tonight. Moreover, I’d gleefully lose $1000 if it means we beat those bastards, except my son draws the line at a week of nothing but Vegemite sandwiches for brekky, lunch and dinner, he ain’t doing a month. #SpoiltBrat 😁

@sue @titan_uranus in response to a query on the pregame thread, the last team in the top 4 with a percentage below 100 this late in the season was Geelong after round 18, 2000.

(Melbourne finished 1989 in 4th with a percentage of 96.5)

Thanks @WheeloRatings. I think @Bring-Back-Powell nailed this one.

Goodwin and the selectors have come up with a cunning plan and believe they have built a better mousetrap. All we need now is for essendon to chase the cheese.

Dees by a couple of goals.

Thanks for the offer ET but Cortona is a tad too far from the coast. I'm aiming to circumnavigate Italy (over 4 trips). This is my third. 70% covered. 😊🇮🇹

Can you still get premium guest passes or does that have to be during the week?

Tough crowd..

As for tonight I do think we're a chance. Ruckman dominance doesn't always equal success, still got our rearguard who will cut off everything if there's enough pressure up the ground. We do need to be wary of Essendon's quick ball movement but maybe the rain could play into our favour? Time will tell.

Wherever Harrison plays I'm aure he'll have some kind of impact tonight.

Nah. He needs to learn what's important in life. The Dees winning (and you risking his health/well being) is far more important (than food) 😀

Checking in from a music festival in Basque country. (#not a humblebrag, but maybe a bit probably ).

The last two days I've seen Massive Attack, Air, Underworld and Prodigy (and Grace Jones).

There has to be some tea leaves among that lot. ?

    MORE FIERCE by Meggs

We’re back!  Winning the last three matches has recaptured our Demon spirit and, with superstar players returning from rehab, our Season 2024 dreams are not over yet.   So come along 5.05 pm Saturday afternoon to watch this Round 9 ladder-defining match at the Field of Dreams. Expect the Tigers to be fierce, but surely the Demons will be more fierce. Playing conditions are expected to be a dry 15 degrees with a typically gusty Cranbourne wind. The media opprobrium of the ill-consi

    IN FRONT by Meggs

In this must-win clash between Melbourne 11th on the ladder and St Kilda 8th, it was the Demons who were in front all day to win in a hard-fought Round 8 clash to make it three in a row to keep theit slim finals chances alive. A good crowd of enthusiastic footy families for week 2 of Pride Round had gathered.  The full pews in the well-appointed RSEA Park grandstand provided excellent viewing.   The Saints won the toss and elected to kick to the southern end favoured by a strong 2-3 g

    THE TRADING CHRONICLES 02

Part 2: Watching grass grow by Whispering Jack Critics of test cricket (and I’m not one of them) will often claim the sport is excruciatingly boring: that following a five day match is much like watching grass grow. However, the longest form of that game has nothing on the first week of the AFL trade period when it comes to inducing sleep among those in the football public who follows this process in its somnolent moments. The week gone by has been no exception. Only two player trades

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Meggs

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised
