BBB and his partner Hester's special cake for Tracc…

😁

That is very funny!

From what Trac says in the interview, he had splenic embolisation - they closed off part of his spleen to stop the bleeding.  It's better than having his spleen out, it means he's still got part of his spleen doing the hard work of keeping infection out of his blood which is really needed back out on the footy field - lots of scratches and grazes full of glob knows what.  He looks a bit pale but maybe I'm used to seeing him all pumped up out on the footy field.

Great to see Christian being interviewed on the MFC website he is starting the long journey to full recovery and the fact that as previously mentioned he is eyeing his spot on the bench when he is fit enough to rejoin the club fills me with confidence that he will be OK. Thanks Tracca and MFC.💕

Not that there was malice with Trac, but Moore's knee taking no prisoners in 2024.

We can get a slightly better look at Ned Moyle at least.

He re-signed with Gold Coast until the end of 2028, unfortunately for our prospects.

Ah apologies, missed that in the EOFY madness.

Thanks

There has to be one out there with our name on him??

No malice? What about careless conduct or duty of care?!

Name another player in the AFL that leads with his knee like he does. He has already racked up 4 victims that I can think of (I am sure there are moore, pardon the pun):

Howe - concussed; Trac - almost killed; Witts - broken back; Noble - concussed

I’ve changed on this, at the time l thought it was a football act, now he’s broken Jarrod’s Witts vertebrae, this is beyond the joke, he’s a dud but so eloquent the footy world forgives without mention

If it was May he would’ve been lynched by the AFL & media maggots

Sick of this [censored], the AFL is rigged

I sorta argued with my good wife...a collywobbler ....at the time when Moore whacked Trac. Her view...how can you say that he's a good decent player...  Me..  no 'decent' player leads with a knee...and that's not how you 'spoil'.

Fell on deaf ears... and I decided I wasn't winning any debate.... (seldom do...lol )

Yes...the lad speaks well.....  he's also ....let's say....  very 'careless'

Fool me once shame on you....twice, shame on me...   what do we do for Four and above ???

He’s just as likely to take his own players out as the opposition.  So keep going I say.  But a special request.  Try and take out Maynard!

Jeepers, tough run for Trac. Let’s all hope this is his last trip to a hospital for a long time.

Looks pretty happy with things to me - almost 'Smile File' worthy!

Although, possibly won't be taking Melky's place in the box, this week at least...

Poor trac. Appendicitis is the last thing he needs. Hopefully he was actually under this time & not awake.

He will not want to see another hospital bed for awhile

The hardest part no doubt for Trac would be that he has been unable to sculpt his magnificent adonis body.

Far better news than originally widely speculated - he has retained his spleen, or most of it, which is great immunologically.  He has also avoided abdominal surgery which means he will be able to get back to the 'body building' aspects of training pretty soon, and running gradually.  Presumably he will be told to avoid contact for a few months but he would be expected to be fully fit by preseason.

PS uncomplicated appendicitis treated by keyhole surgery shouldn't be a real setback.  On the bright side it at least didn't happen in season.

SEN Said this morning that Trac has been in hospital having his appendix taken out.Related to his injuries.

Any doctors in the house who can shed some light on whether the two medical events are related, or a completely unfortunate coincidence?

I am no doctor but hard for me to see a correlation between the spleen and the appendix. Unless an infection can occur because the damaged spleen had a diminished capacity to keep the blood "clean".

just bloody bad luck.

get it all out this year and rest up Christian

Best regards to Christian Petracca, having an horrendous run with injury and illness, hoping for a speedy recovery Tracc.❤️💙💕

Roffey said she believed it was unrelated yesterday… but who knows

And Richo said it would be a huge coincidence and that the injuries sustained probably did have some causal effect 🤪

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
