It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

Managed to get out of a 7 pm meeting, can't wait to watch and cheer from the couch 😁  Encourage the boys for me, those of you lucky enough to go in person!

Thanks WCW!  You always blow the opposition out of the water with your shouts of support 😁  I'm working on my next escape plan for the 'G and hope to see you (and our boys!!) soon!  ❤💙

I'm certain OOZE will be pushing every coaching button known to win this one. But it it just aint going to happen!

I predict we will be up and about tonight and get away to a flyer and go to a comfortable win.

I would really like to see a blinder from Clarrie to show the footy world he's back to being the superstar we Dees fans know. I also reckon Kozzie will enjoy the big stage and produce some magic.

Dees by 30 points.

This night has become my favourite home and away game. It's hauntingly beautiful build up is something to behold. So proud our country and game continues to give the respect and love to those taken from their families and loved ones.

This one will be the first without our beloved RDB, which makes it even more emotional.

I personally lost an uncle I never knew on HMAS Sydney. Another uncle was a POW in Changi. A postcard he sent from there is a one of my most treasured possessions.

Fortunately, both my, and my wife's, father came back to us, relatively unscathed. Of course, we never really know the mental scars they lived with.

Our club lost at least 30 players in the word wars and countless injured and I love that our B & F is named after one of them.

I will be there, no doubt with a tear in my eye, but it won't be due to the result.

❤️💙🇦🇨

@buck_nekkid

Turner offers us flexibility forward and back, as does Petty and even TMAC.  Also there could be a weather dependence on who gets a run - Laurie .woey if wet, Disco if dry.

We've got so many of them now, they might need to form their own club like the Wingers.

Maybe call it The Swingers Club?

Oh dear

Gerard Whateley called Turner a "tall wingman" on 360.

Through the SEN app is the only one I know

It’s Disco fever tonight.  I like his intensity and shown he can compete at this level. Just needs a good run with no injuries.

Our coaching team sometimes doesn't seem to respond quickly to counter opposition strategies at times.

Could be quite fascinating to see what Ooze puts on the table tonight. I don't know if he's got the cattle on the field but it should make for great viewing. Especially with BT and Selwood's thoughtful insights.
"Woweeeee" - "The tigers aren't getting their hands on the ball."

Might find that SEN app

Go Dees and enjoy the night to those getting along. Shout your guts out for us

are we too tall for a wet game?

Have we ever been as excited to see a player who was a mid season rookie draft selection and has played 3 games in 3 years, as we are excited to see Disco?

From what I've seen he looks the goods and I'm excited for him to play! I just reflect on how anti messiah he is.

Possibly. Although that would be worse with BBB than Disco.

We could see Disco as sub still, leaving a winger (Windsor), a mid (Laurie), a forward (Sparrow) and a defender (Woey) on the bench.

The only way to watch. Is with no sound.

why listen to drivel, if you are on D’land you know as much about football as the clowns on the box. Very few have much insight, and not the main ones.

Closed room, the dog in the other room, yell as loud as you want. Go Dee’s

Beautifully put Palace Dees.

Only a small amount of light rain predicted

I think the weather will be okay tonight, according to the Bom anyway the bulk of the rain will be done by lunchtime...hopefully.  Bit ordinary that we get worried in the wet though.

Laurie would want to absolutely "bring it" tonight, bit miffed that Kolt got dropped but hopefully he'll be back soon.

GO DEES GAME DAY HELL YEAH!!!

The time is here and I’m putting out a gameday PSA.

If you have never been to the ANZAC eve game before I strongly encourage you to get along tonight. I know it’s an away game but the pre match ceremony is truly something the be seen in person.

“They shall not grow old” and great words but I believe that nights like this really put that into practice. We all enjoy living in this great country and this night is for all of us.

I myself have a deep personal connection with WW2. While my background is Greek, my grandfather and my great uncle served in the RAAF in New Guinea. They both returned but had their lives changed forever from that point on. I’ll always be proud of what these two and many others sacrificed so could live the lives we do today and I’m always thinking of them during the minutes silence.

Regardless of your background or what you believe this night/day is for you and again if you’ve never experienced it I would seriously consider getting along tonight or to the dawn service at the Shrine tomorrow which I’ll also be attending.

And lastly, go the mighty Dees!

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
