Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jeffo Still in defence, after being pick 15 as a forward 🤯

good - best place for him to continue to develop his game

he kicked 20+ goals in the vfl in his first year as a forward on an afl list

now to add extra strings to his bow he can develop a defensive mindset

Training:  Captain's run at Gosch's

The AFL rehabbed are having a strength and conditioning session. Sestan plenty of running, Melky working hard and is now leading with intensity against a defender (non-contact), and receiving from Sestan. Bowey running laps. Turner going harder and has started change of direction drills. Hunter has also increased his intensity, now doing structured kick to kick with Turner.

Casey players are out.

Low ball get drills to start them off, (Sestan, Turner and Melky have joined the squad), then some handballs with short run throughs. Now skills in a square, finishing with a kick on goal. They have gone into a big square of four corners with bigger kicks and run throughs.

Not many numbers match the VFL team sheet, and it seems to be last seasons squad.

White has a support on his left knee and is sitting out most drills.

AMW is not training.

Number 50 is a big unit playing as a forward.

Structured sims. First from back to front, then reversed. Tomlinson setting the rules and pushing standards. Jefferson and Adams, in the back pocket. Verrall and Farris-White rucking. Tholstrup and K.Brown forward, with Tholstrup being pushed up into the stoppages.

Coach (Whitford) now pulls them together and demonstrates what he wants. He walks them through various scenarios at different areas on the field as they mime the actions. White attends these pantomimes, so could be playing.

They end with goal kicking. 63 has the skills, rarely misses.

The rehabbed stay out on the paddock for extra drills and sprints down the field.

Jefferson has done pretty good since going to the backline. Do not mind at all him playing back there if hes gaining confidence. Cause he wasnt getting much of the ball in the fwd line

With injuries to May and Lever there are openings for Tommo or maybe Adams ? Haven’t seen much of Jed this year and thought he was a fair way off last season but will be interesting to see if he can put his hand up

Surely we rest Tomlinson for this game (or at least a half) to make sure we've got him fully fit for the AFL next week?

Does anyone know if you're allowed to bring dogs to Casey home games?

Post above suggests new guidelines.

Pre pandemic dogs were very welcome. I can recall Neville Jetta and his family having a lovely little dog at Coburg.

Went to Box Hill  immediately post pandemic and certainly lots of dogs... all well behaved

Don’t think so. Unless it’s changed since 2020. All I could find was this though.

Thanks gents.  Looks like a no.  I seem to recall seeing dogs there in a final late 2022 but memory from then is sketchy

Game Day!

Andy, WJ and assorted D’landers, must have have been partying hard into the Wee hours. Celebrating the Mayblooms de-petaling.

Box Hill Hawks may be a different proposition, faint echoes of the empire strikes back?  As the Enterprise voyages fearlessly into the unknown. This seasons new Casey  Demons are also a relatively unknown quantity with many new faces on board. Mixed with some more familiar faces. Today’s transmission from Planet Casey will soon reveal whether the blend of new and old will gel. A New Hope?

Thanks @kev martinshocking google Sundayitis from me !!!

The original list had M.Lewis at full forward.

Looks better with Caleb Lewis at full forward.

Read that he was a young star at St Bedes in the VAFA.

Interesting to see how he goes.

I am getting worried about Jefferson.  We effectively got Jefferson and Windsor in the Jackson trade compensation. Jefferson is a good young player. Good mark but second efforts and current frame mean he’s easily beaten at VFL level. Perhaps a stint in the backline will help build more desire for the footy and the contest.

I’d give him another 18 months on the list at least.  Early days still.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
