Geelong Sets Sights on Oliver

Rack of lamb?

Agree PF! Our midfield gets really shallow of elite talent if we let Clarry go in addition to the retirement of Brayshaw

Geelong will argue he is only worth a second round pick to due to the off field issues.

Would be staring at a full scale rebuild if we lost Petty and Oliver at the end of this year. We need to get aggressive at the trade table ourselves I feel.

Also know as clubs put 100 names on a whiteboard to discuss/monitor and Oliver is one of the 100.

I noticed the Jay Z had a new show start last night and broke the "story" on the show. I suppose they needed something to talk about and get people to tune in next week.

Said in the other thread that got shut down. Highly doubtful he goes. The only way he does, is if he is pushed out by Melbourne. I cannot see him initiating the move himself. In either case, you can't seeing us getting more than a first round pick for him given the circumstances.

Rather give him away to West Coast than see him in a Geelong jumper.

A glaring issue in our list has been, for many years, quality ball users in our midfeild. That then amplifies our issue of having no elite power forward.

Love Clarry, he is a generational player. But if letting him go would fix the issues above then of course we should entertain it.

He’s too young to go to Geeelong and still has six years left on his contract with us plus he is very close to Tracc and Max. Click bait, media are still grasping at straws  to get people to read their rubbish.

I wonder why I hate Geelong so much. We would probably have sold him a few months ago but no one was interested. So Melbourne do the right thing and stick by him to see if he can turn it atound and thus far he has and now you have those sleazebags at Geelong putting their grubby paws into the pudding hoping for something cheap.

Unbebloodylievable

Can't have a poor kicking midfield if you don't have any midfielders

Viney, Sparrow, Tracca, Kozzie, Rivers, Salo, Windsor - and in the two's AMW, Brown

How many midfield options do we need exactly?

Every other club in the league would want him.
I’m sure Bontempelli would be sought by everyone as well, but it ain’t going to happen.

Best to stop reading when you see the authors name, and his employer.

Correct - the desperation for relevance from some of these people is beyond ridiculous. Oliver is in the middle of a massive contract - no team can afford to give us what is required for us to give up Clarry.

Wasn’t Sparrow reported to by be head hunted by the crows, how did that end up, have these gossip journalists have nothing better to write about.

We could head this off by relocating our Training and Admin facilities to Moggs Creek.

In seriousness I cannot see how Geelong would come up with the 2 x early first round picks to satisfy any trade and thats if Clarry wanted to leave Melbourne and go there. I think this sort of rubbish reporting will only intensify depending on how our season progresses.

We don't want any of our players to get to the stage of wanting to leave Melbourne, and the best way to do that is to make sure the Club is the best place for them to be happy, and if not why not.

'Out of favour' - spare me. Geelong are in the Vic media's favourite 3 teams alongside Collingwood and Carlton and they want all the good players to go to one of them. Morons.

Danger.....you are finished  WTF he says.
