You  know who I blame for this. The players from our team who couldn't kick straight to save themselves.

It's easy for them. They can escape by going overseas next week. We can't.

Somebody please think of the DL’ers!!

The most infuriating thing about Collingwood making the Grand Final is that they’re not even that [censored] good.

They (the filth) looked so gettable last night!

They also interviewed that sex pest DeGoey, who for some reason decided to awkwardly hug her and invade her space. Others lose their jobs for similar behavior. Was bizarre and no one bats an eyelid because it’s Collingwood. I hate what this country is becoming.

Yep, the idolization of sex offenders, thugs and cheats under the guise of being good blokes who can kick a footy is nauseating.

The last few weeks I’ve realised I like Aussie Rules the game, can’t stand the AFL as an industry, but love the Demons. The manufacturing of storyline’s and outcomes is so obvious.

Watching the AFLW is a revelation. It feels fun and real.

I was surprised Hogan kicked straight late.
But he's been out of our system longer I s'pose.

Nice of Channel 7 to yet again rub salt into our wounds by interviewing this [censored] low life animal after the game.

Hate to say it, but i don't think we beat either team last night (pies beat us already in a QF as we know). We don't have the corridor game to win it. Badly need some new thinking in this regard. any chance we could poach Leppitsch?

Sorry @BDA  to disagree.  We could have beaten either team last night. I wouldn’t be afraid of playing either.  We have to ability to beat anyone and win it. Put us against anyone and we’re a big chance.

Just for the record.  Pies and Blues didn’t beat us.  Dees lost it. Both times. What hurts is we only have ourselves to blame in both games.  So so so so (etc ) chances to win both games.  (And ps. we were minus Gus,Petty,Melksham)

I thought the Ch 7 commentary was deplorable.  I have accepted that BTs brain is always at another game but the others commentated not on what they saw but who they saw

Daicos - what a champ; (had just slipped and fallen over)

Sidebottom - ever reliable (coughed up 2 goals)

I noticed that too. Went the hug and the kiss. Was real creepy and weird. Maybe a little history there, who knows. She looked uncomfortable

Good post.

We simply couldn't win because of our fwd line being depleted. Also had Gus unfairly removed from the whole game.

We bombed it against the pies without a strong Hogan type player who could make a contest.

If a tired gws side that had a six day break after three interstate games had another tall in their fwd line and not rely just on Hogan they would be in a Gf now.

Pies are bog ordinary and  should be smashed by the lions if the Mcg hoodoo isn't a factor.

Lions fwd line should overwhelm  the pies defenders .

As for Carlton, we were another fwd down in a young Jvr suspended and blew a lot of chances in a very poorly umpired game with 50m penalties handed out like snickers bars and a lot of frees just simply not paid.

We also made some poor selection choices with Laurie in the QF and not Grundy in the other.

A sad ending with injuries, the Maynard incident and some really poor skills saw us removed in straight sets in a series where a flag was very much there for the taking.

I think his season has been slightly over hyped.

12.17 for the season. If he did that at Melbourne he’d be lynched by all and sundry.

Agree, people have been suckers for the highlight reel and quick to boot our list management.

Like the rest of you I’ve woken to a lovely Melbourne Spring day, revoltingly ruined by the infiltration of Collingwood propaganda. Listening to 774 and Matt Preston is about to turn away 60% of his audience, by assuming we are all interested in listening to his nauseating sycophantic slobbering on about Collingwood.
Its just the arrogance that pizzes me off, this would happen with no other team, except perhaps Carlton 🤮🤮🤮

When Hogan kicked that goal to get the Giants within 1 a Richmond friend asked how Melbourne must feel seeing that.

If anyone should be feeling bad about Jesse playing this kind of footy it's Freo. They couldn't make it work in the perfect hometown environment and they are crying out for a forward as well right now.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
