Fritter for ANB.

Not like for like, but good for average

I thought Nibbler was good today with 22 touches and six tackles.

He made some mistakes but so does every player.

He's this year's whipping boy though and any little thing he does wrong gets called out by some posters.

Kudos to Petty, now you need to bring that intensity every week.

Max since he has gone solo has stepped up big time, big clap skipper.

Viney tough ba$tard and is driving expectations.

Trac I am always calm when he is near the ball, you know he is going to give you something.

Thought our first half tackles weren’t sticking, area I think we could lift big time.

Tigers were good, but we are competitive and giving ourselves one hell of a chance leading into finals.

Max has absolutely no right being that good below his knees

I just think it looks better than it is because of how fumbly some of our other stars are. Today was more of an exception though as he was very clean.

He was great today. Anyone who couldn't see it wasn't watching.

I think we need to seriously consider resting a few for next week.

We can get Hibbo, Sparrow, Smith and Grundy to cover a few players.

We won’t rest but we will give Viney and Trac less time on ball once Sparrow and Clarry return to freshen them up.
I don’t think that they’ll risk Clarry next week.

I can put my hand up as being in that camp, but to be fair no one saw this coming. Nothing he’d done playing fwd this year gave any indication he had a game like that in him.

Was very good against Sydney before being injured and showed a very good glimpse in the last quarter in a Semi Final last year against the Lions. Yep in a finals game when the game was on the line.

It’s all about potential and the vibe, and how’s the serenity after todays game 😜😜😳😝😝

Thanks to Richmond and the MFC for a seriously entertaining match. Was introducing the sport to my Albanian hosts and not embarrassed at all. They loved it. Plus Yze! We have at least six new fans - but I think I can convert the whole village.

Ahhh you humblebragged your location finally 🍷😇

Calls for him to be dropped every week but it’s never going to happen.

Harmes, Woey or Jordan in line for the axe before they even think about ANB. Coaches clearly love what he does.

Plugger Petty!

Petty and JVR much better pairing than Hawkins/Cameron or Curnow/Mackay ... And they are a bargain too!

But he hadn't had a decent run at it prior to getting the injury BA.

And in that match he was just looking likely and appeared to be settling in to it.

A major change of role, even when there's been some serious training time put in, still takes a fair amount of actual live game time before the fruits of that labour start to show and the rewards follow.

Fingers crossed Petty is on his way and we can now settle this forward line as it stands with Fritsch the only outstanding "In" if he can get back to full fitness.

Macca a handy back up if he can also get back to full match fitness in the next four weeks.

That was a very entertaining game of footy, Tigers played their absolute hearts out, looked like a final.
Things are starting to click…

The best thing about them is they contest. Every, single, time!

Goodys call to switch to man on man defence was a great move

Was tommo subbed off injured or tactical? Missed it at the ground...

tactical, cos they subbed miller out so we needed to go smaller defensively to keep the match-ups the same

He worked hard today. Was one of his better games.  446 metres gained must be a record for him.

Tactical I believe. He didn't look that happy after the game. It was as if he saw his chance of playing finals slipping through his fingers. I feel sorry for him.

Imo he plays again next week and continues to, unless he has a couple of absolute mares. Petty forward with JVR, Melksham and Fritta to come, is the way forward for the rest of the season. Tracc pops down occasionally, with smalls Chandler, Woey and ANB, who hopefully can reduce his turnovers.

McVee looked completely out of his depth in the first half. He was fumbly, losing his feet in contest and seemed to just lose his composure.

His ability to fight back in the 2nd half and change his game around was very impressive.

Won some huge one on one contests and was able to compose himself much better and compose himself a lot better.

Harmes, Jordon and Woewodin should be in the gun regardless of the result.

Harmes was pretty putrid IMO

Was Dusty giving him some defensive tips? Whatever the case, it seemed like a very noble discussion.

Oustanding 4 QTR effort.  Richmond were terrific in the first half but we just stuck to the process. Hit the contests hard, repeat efforts and finished well enough to stay in touch.

Best last QTR we've played this year.  Max immense, Trac does whatever he likes.  Viney and Brayshaw just keep their heads down and work, work, work.

Forward line sorted with plenty of talent tucked away and aching for their chance

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
