Taj to debut. Fascinating. Wonder if this means Hunter or Bowey go forward...

Just announced on the MFC Insta account that he'll debut this week.

Can he do another Bowey and not play in a losing side for his first 14 games?

That'd be nice.

Weird. I watched the presser and was convinced that jvr will be in.

Surely with Fritta out they have to bring JVR back in. It would be madness no to.

Great to see Taj come in as well

Dont put too much weight to pressers..

Apparently there was a coach who said player X was to welcomed back to the fwd line....   turned our he played on the backline...

I know... fancy that.....lol.......

Unless they do what @GCDee suggested and bring in Tomlinson and play Petty forward.

Should be one or the other, I'll be annoyed if we leave BBB on his own down there.

It's interesting, because Marvel is a very fast deck, you don't wanna carry too many big guys, it'll ping out quickly on slingshot if the exits are vulnerable.

So who do we think Woewodin's replacing? Harmes? Surely not Fritsch, so someone else has to come out, whilst someone else comes into the forward line (should be JVR but I'm not confident after that non-committal presser today).

I suspect Jordan will come in for Harmes TU.  All just guess work of course.

Great to see Taj get the call up.  Really cleaned up his disposal in the last 3 to 4 matches and starting to hit targets about 70% of the time (no evidence or stats here just a stab based on the old eye test).

Can't believe we're favourites heading into this. And by some way too.

St Kilda odds look juicy.

It's also weird that posters think playing on a dry deck will sort our kicking out immediately. If my memory serves correctly, some of scrappiest and low skilled games have been when we play under that roof.

Our form-line gives no confidence. Players nor coaches. Goodwin pick teams from a top hat every week, doesn't reward VFL performers and continues to play underperforming senior players.

If we win this, it'll be amazing.

doesn’t reward VFL form?

what about Chandler, McVee, JVR, Bowey, Woewodin, Smith to name a few

We develop players really well and don’t rush them. most players who come through play good footy from game 1.

Posters refer to Goodwin as being one of the more honest and transparent coaches in the AFL via press conferences.

I think he's been anything but this year. Your Petty example is a prime one and he was adamant May would play in rounds 1 and 2. Not to mention his weekly updates on Clarry.

I thought jvr would be an in, but that doesn't sound likely based on goody's comments - which is no bad thing. As goody said he is only a kid, probably needed a chop out and of course still has lots of things to improve and develop in his game

I think in addition to woey, jordon and spargo will both come back in to the 23.

Fritter out obviously. Melksham to cime out, jordon possibly the sub.

That's two.

Harmes would be my guess for the third out.

He should be in Bing regardless.

Our most accurate set shot at goals.

Out of our designated forwards he is (on averages)...

Top 5 inside 50 for....

Goals (4th) marks (4th behind Fritsch BB & Kozzy), tackles (a bee's whatsit behind ANB in 4th) and one percenters (2nd only behind Petty who i suspect is only ahead due to his time down back...Footywire has designated him as a forward).

Surely some of the issues (or THE issue) Goody speaks of can be worked on at senior level and is something that he'll improve in as he goes (gradually).

Regardless it / they can also be worked on in the off season.

Right now we need to settle this forward line and drill drill drill them into some sort of form and cohesion.

The cohesion team work bit up forward  wont happen if we are constantly changing the core group!

We are 16 rounds in and Goodwin & Co. STILL haven't worked out who is there preferred line up!!?????

8 weeks to go and the clocks ticking.

There's no one else to decide upon in terms of talls at Casey bar Schache and he just doesn't look like the better of the two (vs JVR) for mine.

Incredible that we are still fluffing around at this stage of the season and in danger if dropping out of the four while we speak.

It's not rocket science.... get on with it fellas FCS or we'll be kissing another wasted opportunity / season goodbye!

I'm attending my first Marvel Match...with my 7yo. Anyway, what I am looking forward to is BBB kicking 6 goals on his favourite deck. It's a lock.

While I'm not as starry eyed as some supporters on JVR yet, you have to feel sorry for the kid. He's basically been taking the number 1 defender for weeks as a 19yo and I think Goodwin has let him down a bit by not playing Brown to take the key defender, which would free JVR up. We bring in Brown and drop JVR when it would have freed him up. I'd much rather JVR than Smith thats for sure. Another season with baffling team selections imo. Anyway....

Can someone please summarise the recent noise around Oliver?

From the conspiracy theories about a suspension to now very silly allegations of issues with the coaching staff...

He's now missed 5 - 6 games. I believe  you could count with the fingers of one hand the total missed games in his career up until this recent patch of very bad luck.

He's the only fwd and probably player (regardless of position), that is kicking above 50% efficiency at goal, nuff said.

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die!
