Can't keep carrying ANB in these sorts of games

Sorry adonski but you have to watch him live to appreciate his value to the team.

It was the lack of htb calls today that killed me.

So [censored] proud of the lads!! 😭

Oh, and Mason Cox go back to America you absolute filth!

Viney absolutely huge. Defence was so solid. May, Lever, Thommo, Hibbo was fantastic, Rivers got better and better after a shakey start.

Smith - so happy for him doubling his career goal tally today. Felt he started to look/feel at home at the level as the game wore on. Makes things interesting when Petty comes back.

Roo - crucial goal and did a lot of good things. Fritsch looking much more like his usual self - assuming he's worked through his foot issues from earlier.

Pathetic effort by the Pies publicising the supposed covid +flu sweeping their group this week. If the shoe was on the other foot we'd be crucified in the media for buttressing the excuse train like that.

We dominated that game. Make no mistakes this is the Port game in reverse. We kick straight and it’s a 6 goal win.
Absolutely brilliant performance missing two very important players.

I want to give a massive shout out to Smith and Tomlinson. Played perfect team roles.
And McVee and JVR who are delivering beyond their years.

A performance that makes you so proud. What an effort!

Tomlinson has stepped in and played the third tall Petty role (which was the Tomlinson role pre-ACL) very well.

We badly missed that third tall back man while the Petty forward experiment was ruining both the forwardline and backline.

Wow.  Thought May had cost us that.. Very shakey.

In reality should have been a 6 goal win, but we are devoid of confidence up front.  WHEN WILL IT END.

Defence was awesome today.  Contested ball amazing.

Special mentions to Joel Smith for competing - and the first halves of Judd McVee and Salem in particular.  I forgot how good Salem is, he just calms everyone down and some of the targets he hits, so good.

Disappointing again to get nothing out of Pickett, Spargo & Chandler.  Leaving too much for Fritta, we really need them to step up now.  Brayshaw was awful in the first quarter but battled on and got some useful touches.  Trac built and built but so wasteful!

Still painful to watch but we just beat the flag favourites.

Think I'd need a NASA telescope to appreciate what he 'does'

We just carried our entire small forward brigade.

Amazing coaching performance and team effort. Our structure was set up really well and clogged them up in the right places.

God King is an insufferable [censored]. He used to love us and now sucking Collinwood's d.

Other than that an unbelievably dominant win, should've been 40+ points. We look to be back to our 21' Premiership winning best. We can do it this year, no team is untouchable!

I LOVE our Dees! ❤️💙 Grit and determination prevailed!

We have it over all sides, in this area

If i would ask 1 question....

Is Chocco the best goal kicking coach going around? Its seems it was almost an afterthought when he was appointed. Surely this is an area in the modern game that seems to be overlooked. Cant we go out and get the best we can?

Goal kicking aside, offensive pressure just terrific - Pies absolutely [censored] themselves in there, so did we though but trapped it in 8 times out of 10.

Not going to pretend that Van Rooyen was best on ground and I'm not going overcook the praise for what was overall just a pretty good game, but...

Van Rooyen didn't miss.

On a level with the Harmes-to-Fritsch clearance kick in the Grand Final for turning point moments.

And as he ran in for the shot he looked... happy. It was uncanny. It was as if he already knew it was a goal.

Umpire pooped his pants in the last ten minutes. Starting with the holding the ball that was called a push in the back.

Having said that, go you mighty, mighty Dees. With the icing in the cake being a little more light shone on Mason Knobs

Standing over players on the ground. Mouthing off after losing. What a jerk

Embrace the imperfections people, we got it done!

Spot on!

It’s still only June - plenty of time to iron out the kinks and perfect our system and structure.

We just put the filth back in their place - let’s bask in that for a while!

Suspect umpiring in the last.  Petracca in the back, Viney not in the back, Brayshaw being hung onto when they got that last clearance.  Almost like they wanted it to go down to the wire.

Shouldn't have been that close anyway.  Good win!

Like Tomlinson down back - is very reliable and good for Levers game.

one of the weaker forward lines it must be said.  Did well today though.

Wow Jack Viney.

You are a BEAST.

Glad you are on our team.

GO DEES

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
