Agree!

it is pretty impressive how the umpiring has gotten worse with an extra ump

My biggest gripe is that you have an umpire standing 1m from a contest calling play on, and then some jerk from 150m away interjects and calls for a free.
Where did you come from sir and why do you have laser beams for eyes?

Two weeks in a row the Suns have helped us.

I always said they were an important part of the competition and I have no desire to shut them down and steal all their best players

Watched the last quarter of GC and Crows and the umpiring was out of this world.

That good hey? 😂

The standard of umpiring is declining at the same rate as the cost of living is increasing.

Speaking of umpiring, I fear they've gone too far with the ducking interpretation. Some players are having their heads nearly taken off without dropping their heads and it's being largely ignored.

And you have to admit the pies are doing it very, very well right now. Don’t necessarily like the club but really admire that team they have playing right now.

I was actually at the game, Pies were great in first qrt ..Eagles were one man on bench from first qrt & then inevitably were run over in the last ..they were done. Pies looked very average in a good half of a game so I just wonder if they’re feeling the pinch a bit. But don’t get too carried away by that last qrt.

Not sure Geelong winning is a good result.

Geelong is still 2 games and percentage behind us. Better than two teams a game behind us, one with a great run home.

Yes very fair call, I probably went to early on that first quarter but essentially they are still a very good team.

Only interest today is the loser of gws v rich  can pack up and go play golf for the 2nd half of the season. Caroline Wilson said on ch9 preseason that Richmond would make the 8 and give the flag a shake.  yeah Caro. Even the winner cant really make it with freo and suns improving every round.

Norff could be worth a tickle against Essendone.  If umpires favoured Gawn like they do with Draper dees wouldnt lose a game.

Regardless of who wins out of GWS and Richmond today, Carlton will finish the round in 14th place.

If that's not the cellar, it's knocking on the cellar door.

It says heaps for the depth that we had last year – and I think, probably still do – the Bedford, Baker, Weideman , Hunt are all doing extremely well at other clubs.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
