He’ll get cited no doubt under the current climate.

The only key question is if it’s medium (1 week) or low (fine).

The fact that Rozee played on and indeed kicked the winning goal would provide an argument for low contact.

geez, if you get suspended for that, what has the game come to

sadly, being mfc (jvr), christian will pounce on it like a fox in the hen house

And we can humiliate the [censored] again and again.

How about Rozee gets cited for headbutting Hunter. If players contest head first, they'll cop high contact and risk injury - but just like Spargo's self-concussion a few weeks back, it's their own fault.

Our lawyers should attempt to negotiate a life time ban

In fairness to Hunter his mate on the other wing is stinking up the joint as well.

Has had a really bad season to date. Not sure if the change of wing is the cause.

No Jaded, it’s the haircut. He’s been Sampsoned.

Remember Christian has been humiliated by Melbourne, who he already hates, so no way will Hunter not be suspended for an action entirely initiated by Rozee.
I have mentioned before numerous times, players charging headlong into packs or other players need to be penalised themselves - if not there will be some poor bugger left paralysed and an “innocent bystander” forever condemned just for being there.

For what it's worth I don't think Christian loses much sleep when the Tribunal or Appeals Board override his decisions. One does not become the Match Review Officer by caring about what others think.

Agree with your second point. In this instance Rozee was out of control and owes himself a duty of care.

1 week. Same for Jonas. Great HTB call you cheating umpire.

NARRM recruit Lachie Hunter has been suspended for one match for his high bump on Connor Rozee.

The MRO cited Hunter for forceful front-on contact, deeming the incident as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

We are getting absolutely murdered by the MRO this year.

I still don’t know how Andy Brayshaw escaped suspension with his hit a few weeks back.

Funny because had Hunter decide to fall over Rozee, potentially kneeing him in the head, he would have got a free, Rozee would have had a facial re construction and Hunter would be playing next week.

Oh FFS.
If Hunter had fallen forward over the top of Rozee, he might have got a free for having his legs taken out. That's whatb players will do.

But there is more:

Meanwhile, Yartapuulti captain Tom Jonas has also been banned for a match for rough conduct on Tom McDonald.

Christian Salem was fined $3000 for tripping Jason Horne-Francis, while Ollie Lord and Jack Viney both copped $3000 fines for rough conduct.

is that the TMac incident where Jonas got the free kick?

  • Grapeviney changed the title to Lachie Hunter suspended for 1 week

I think if Hunter had done anything else (excluding running away from the contest), Rozee might have had a more significant injury. We should challenge the ban. We would be providing a service for all footy fans by exposing Christian as the inept clown he is.

Appeal

It’s a good opportunity to mix our midfield rotations up and the way Fremantle’s midfield are running where going to need more leg speed than Hunter can provide.

Is as though Rozee had no duty of care ( to himself ) let alone Hunter.

This ☝🏼

Must appeal this…they want players to have a duty of care. I believe Hunter turned and stood for protection. To me he had no intention of hurting Rozee.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
