Wouldn't put anything on that happening DM

Harmes yes

Worth prepping Harmes (at Casey and eventually some seniors time) for the job on N Daicos through the middle and forward?

When he goes back handover to Hibb?

Prep Kozzy to pressure Noble who they often use a short kick or so behind play & across HB for the mop up and slingshot distribution.

Maybe Sparrow in a run with on Pendles with some help from others as required (Juddy & / or JJ).

Viney in a head to head with DeGoey

What happened to the rule of taking it one week at a time? One more cliche breach like this one and Demonland might have to suspend you.

Huge out. He’s been one of the best mids in the league that past 12 months or so. We should have more of an advantage around the contest.

Massive. He’s a gun footballer. If he played for a real team he’d been leading the Brownlow.

Laurie looked out of his depth during his short foray on Monday.  Not saying he won't make it but may need a bit more time to develop a cool head under pressure.

One of Harmes or Dunstan surely.

you made that assertion after all of 5 mins play.

JVR looked out of his depth in the first 3 quarters until a VFL defender went to him

Yes its a pretty harsh assessment BB although he was on for a tad more than that (approx 11 min).  Watching him in the replay he did cough a couple up late.

As i said i reckon he'll be fine but he's also competing with the likes of Harmes & Dunstan for that sub spot yes?   Both of whom appear to be in slightly better form at Casey atm even though Bill's form is also pretty good at that level.

These games are a free hit for teams like North. Get beaten by 100 points and no-one really takes much notice, push us for three quarters and get beaten by 30 points equals good effort, get the win and the world turns on us. Melbourne just need to come out in the first and put them away.

Need to hunt them from the start and get the game on our terms. No lax first half and then think omg they've come to play we better do something. Dent their confidence early

Luke Davies-Uniacke out is pretty big.

Leads the Kangaroos for Clearances, score involvements, contested possessions AND effective disposals (quite the pairing!) and is second for goal assists. In fact, North are yet to win a game this season without LDU getting 30+ disposals, 10+ clearances, 5+ tackles and a goal.

He's their guy for both getting it and using it.

We really have to seize this game as our opportunity to get our clearance work sorted out against an inside mid group so depleted that our second-choice group would expect to match them.

Really interesting selection on two fronts IMO.

Firstly, Schache over Brown and TMac. There’s no suggestion the latter two aren’t fit enough for AFL level - if they weren’t I’d have expected as much to be said by the club to help inform us members. So the club instead thinks that Schache’s VFL form this year trumps Brown and TMac’s AFL form. Tough for Brown given he was great before his injury but Schache offers more defensively which may be the logic.

Second, no one rested despite the fresh legs of Laurie, Turner, Harmes and Dunstan. It’s in line with the FD’s general approach to seek consistency but on a 5 day break with a trip to the Gold Coast next week I’m still surprised.

Still no Dunstan, what more does the bloke have to do!

48 touches last week.

The mid season trade period can't come soon enough for capable blokes like Dunstan who would be craving a regular  senior game.

It's a worry that neither tmac or bbb took their chance for a definitive spot in the seniors. Anyone that doesn't think we have a forward line problem is kidding themselves. Thank goodness for Jvr stepping up but he's still a young unknown. Not saying he won't perform but it's not guaranteed and we don't know at what level. He's only got 5 games in fgs. Kozzie is up and down and Fritta though ok isn't where he used to be at. Credit to Goody for trying the Petty option but as much as always hoped for it, he wasn't really up to it. Maybe with Gawn back in he will help out but his kicking still worries me.

If we are going to win a flag thus year we definitely need either Tmac or Bbb to come good or a long shot in Schache. And it needs to happen soon.

Our fwd line fell apart last year and it saw us drop out in straight sets.  Any suggestions?

I still see BBB in our side in the second half of the year, injury permitting.

I watched most of the first quarter of the Casey game. Dunstan got plenty of the ball, but did little damage with it. In fact, many, if not most, of his kicks missed their targets, even when he was under no pressure. So, the answer to your question of "what does the bloke have to do" is likely to be "improve his disposal efficiency".

Happy to see Schache get a go.  What surprised me is that TMc is preferred over Brown if the emergency nominations are anything to go by.

I guess the club is still experimenting.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
