They’ll look to stretch us for height, especially after the Essendon approach last week.

typically we’d just run all over them but with the short break and injuries to some of our smalls, there is more risk in this game than I’m comfortable with.

Add in the fact that North are absolute full strength (aside from Xerri) as compared to Richmond who had about 7 of their best 22 out last week.

I get the slight discomfort but we don’t have any business losing this one.

Lever was calling out a nickname to Schache.

"Weasel",  I was taken a back.

Perhaps he has weaseled his way into the team, or his bonding with deep and meaningful discussions.

I'm told the nickname was Diesel.

Sorry for the misleading information.

Lever was really animated when the calls came, called it out three times. Funny how I misheard.

I just realised it. The Deez media division ^%&*@#-!p the media release. They reversed the lines. Should have read:

B: J Jordon, J.van Rooyen, J.McVee

HB: J.Viney, J.Schache, M.Hibberd

C: E.Langdon, C.Oliver, T.Sparrow

HF: A.Brayshaw, B.Fritsch, T.Rivers

F: J.Bowey, S.May, J.Lever

Makes much more sense this way.

I’m much happier now, except I’m not sure if we should reverse the rucks with the interchange? But thanks.

IMO Schache has shown a good string of games in the 2s, and has been rewarded. BB and TMAC had stinkers so they stay at Casey. We have enough options to have each tall compete for their spot in the 22.

Ben Brown kicked 4.1, 4.0 and 1.0. The Sydney game was a stinker but surely it's harsh to punish a proven performer for one poor game. Especially with JVR playing, we really need a proven, experienced tall taking the best defender.

Schache hasnt played more than a couple of AFL games in a row since 2019. Not sure you can call him a bone fide AFL player. He is in his 8th season and hasn't shown much to date.  Brown is miles ahead of him even if not 100%

But Schache is fit and in some form  - BBB seems to be neither.

Honestly don’t understand why people care? It literally does not matter whatsoever. Only thing that matters is who is actually named

But how cool would it be for Goody to line them all up in those positions at the start just to fry our brains.

Hope the selection sends a strong message re perform or stay at Casey, for TMac bb in particular.  Force them to up their games.

Dunstan unlucky to miss, but maybe there is more he needs to demonstrate to get a gig??? Or maybe he is a single role player that is not ‘open’ with Viney and Clarry ahead of him?

Schache ahead of Brown/McDonald is a bit of a statement re the latter two. Beginning of the end for them?

Hard to argue the negative.

At least there is some ‘selection integrity’…

Funny how that integrity never keeps your stats out of the team tho.

I dunno, I thought BBB was fine but maybe the KPIs are the real truth?

A few posters have expressed doubts and concerns about the game against North.

I don't get it!

I think confidence is wavering a bit because of the Essendon loss and the Richmond game which was a struggle to win even with all their outs plus the short break on top of that

DubDee BBB has been having back issues and will need to prove his fitness before coming back, plenty of time for BB.

BBrown is having back issues and coming back via VFL to ease him back in and prove his fitness. It’s a shame as he was in great form before getting injured.

I don’t expect BBrown or TMac to be in the team next year and wouldn’t be surprised if either retired at the end of the year despite being contracted for one more year. They’ve both been good players over the journey, but their bodies are packing up and neither can stay out in the park or maintain form once they make it out there.

Hi DJ. As much as that concerns me my response related to the inclusion of No.19 up front. I guess their best defender goes to JVR then?

Maybe their best defender is going to CHF to look after Fritta

like averaging 3 goals per game at AFL level this year?

And a massive 4 behinds in the VFL last week.

We can't be saying we want to reward form in the VFL and then reward BBB with his 0.4.

Do I want to see BBB back in? Of course. It's hard to deny Schache a chance based on his VFL form though.

"I think we have got a team that can win a premiership, and if we get in this year, I don't think there is a team that is going to want to play us. This year is not a write-off, I don't concede that. Not at all." — Collingwood President Jeff Browne. I love this sort of optimism from the Magpie President after his club’s eleven goal defeat at the hands of the fast rising Hawks. It’s consistent with the fighting spirit of the club that won last year’s flag.  I only wish I could say the s

    FEARS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne’s worst fears about the absence of Max Gawn were realised when it received a shellacking from Fremantle’s ruckmen Sean Darcy and Luke Jackson who dominated the hit out tally in their game at Optus Stadium on Sunday by a massive 47 to 19. As a result, the 50-point deficit at the end of the game proved to be a loss that was long foreseen that was two years in the making and demonstrated a complete lack of hindsight and planning from the club. To add insult to injury, Jackson was a D

    RAIN CHECK by Whispering Jack

The Frankston Dolphins broke a run of six straight losses against their neighbours, the Casey Demons and kept their hopes for a long-awaited return to the VFL finals alive with a 27 point victory over at Kinetic Stadium.
