Titan, can’t remember where I read or heard it sorry although it was mentioned as well on the DLand podcast. Chandler scans for corky.

From bigfooty perhaps:  Had a "precautionary" scan yesterday and was spotted with a strapped up knee at training today.

Our training Oracle @kev martinmight know if his knee was strapped at training.

For anyone who’ll be sitting at the Punt Road end on Saturday night, Gate 4 will be closed. Gates 3 and 5 will be open as usual.

While I don't necessarily agree with it, I get the sense from Goodwin's press conferences recently that the Petty/JVR/Fritta/resting ruckman combination is going to be persisted with a little while longer, so I can't see BBB or TMac returning this week, or Petty returning to the backline.

The only possible change I see to that forward mix is Schache coming in if Grundy needs a freshen up.  Schache looked destined to play seniors before his concussion and was clearly on the cusp this week if we needed a late change and got shafted by the VFL game being on Sunday and didn't play at all.  The coaches may want to keep the Gawn/Grundy chemistry building though if they are both managing well.

Harmes I think is next in line for a call up as he is far more dynamic than Dunstan, who clearly has his admirers, but I'm just not one of them.  If one of Viney/Trac/Clarry can't play, I think we resuffle players like Sparrow, Gus and JJ to cover their middle time and bring in a player like Laurie.  IMO, Dunstan would only come in if two of our inside midfielders were out.  Dunstan played in the North game last year, and perhaps I was being harsh, but I left that game thinking he was absolutely last resort.

JJ has just gotta play against North - whole game intended, not off the bench. It's a dream, but JJ and Chandler as a 'team' heading goalward is a very exciting prospect, one in which Kozzie and ANB can merge, now that we are merging on 'talls', as well.

Yes, there was one of those bands underneath the patella, which was quite thick. Then, bandages/ knee support  on top off that.

He was also in a rehab top, and did minimal out there, finished with a slowish lap of the oval. Not obviously hindered (no limp), but with a quick turn around, my guess would be, probably not.

And.. Schache is an AFL player... ..played in Grand Finals and everything....true dinks.

I don't understand the scorn and derision of this guy tbh.

Of the 3 Tmac, BBB, and Shack. ... who is better shape...better form ?

By all accounts recently kicked a bag of 4 on a day abd a ground not suited to talls.

Yeah ...a real hack that Shack.

I really couldn't care who any of them are. Im not trying to have a kick to kick with mates...... I'm just supposing who might be the most useful player to have out there doing a role.

And someone not carrying a niggle( at best ) ... someone who can pinch hit in the Ruck... go forward...or if need go back.

Hes not fn brilliant....but hes non too shabby either.

He's done the graft and hard yards... hes been seen worthy as a sub..

Well... sub him in ffs.

Schache hasnt played more than a couple of AFL games in a row since 2019. Not sure you can call him a bone fide AFL player. He is in his 8th season and hasn't shown much to date.  Brown is miles ahead of him even if not 100%

Concussion, collided with Sparrow late in the game.

Pretty sure Petty lined up Dusty, missed and smashed Tommy Gun?!

That line up is a joke. Only a few named were in their real positions.

Yeah I don't know why they bother with the smoke and mirrors

Who’s says Goody doesn’t change things up? Fritta at CHB and McVee in the forward pocket will prove a master stroke.

This will sound strange, but having looked at the teams, I'm a little worried about this game.

At the end of the day, if we can't beat North we should probably pack up shop for the year. That said, Geelong lost to the Suns, so who the hell knows what'll happen.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int

    POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood

The Dees played insipid, error riddled & uninspiring footy all night and in a lightning delayed match they eventually succumbed to Collingwood by 46 points at the MCG in the final game of the year. Thank God this season is finally over. Bring on 2025.

    LAST DANCE by The Oracle

Forget the wishful thinking from Magpie fans who think their team can perform yet another miracle and somehow snatch a place in the 2024 finals series when their team takes on the Demons at the MCG on Friday night. It ain’t gunna happen. They can whistle Dixie through their non-existent front teeth but the fact of the matter is that both teams have run their race. The game is a dead rubber — for each of them, this will be the last dance of the season.  And given the history between the two

    RED FACED by Whispering Jack

The wind and the hot unseasonable temperatures together with lights turned on mid game at People First Stadium conspired to leave many Suns players and supporters red faced and gasping for air as the Demons proved a number of points on their way to a nine goal triumph on Saturday afternoon in the Carrara sunshine. Melbourne is the only non-Queensland team to taste victory at this venue in 2024. This surely leaves a number of journalists and media mavens red faced after they rushed to pass
