Sparrow has gone backwards.

We are NOT premier favourites.

Perhaps the players think they are.

ย

And we are supposed to be premiership favourites. Puh-lease

Look it's a bad performance but people need to get a grip.

Collingwood lost to West Coast's seconds last year.

Geelong were 3-2 after 5 rounds and 4-3 after 7 last year.

Richmond similar in 2019.

Look if this was another team I wouldn't be as mad. But it's Essendon. It's horrible they'll be 4-1 sitting above us on the ladderย

ย

Call the first half what you will, that quarter was next level bad. To think we were still in it at half time and could have corrected some mistakes to still win is mind boggling.ย

In half an hour we have fallen so far back it's not funny while the Bombers have developed a nice blue print to beat us. Don't give me the rubbish about players out or if we gave more effort, this one will sting and need some serious work to move past.

This quarter alone has been such a let down, I expected a fierce response and it didn't happen.

And thatโ€™s the most disappointing part.ย
Only 17 points down at 1/2 time and that was their response.ย
Arrogant, pathetic and embarrassing.

Max wouldn't make much of a difference with this type of disorganised trash.ย

Up the wings, bomb it long. Not hungry enough.

This shouldโ€™ve been a percentage building win against a loser club. Instead weโ€™ve [censored] the bed and no one is putting their hand up to try and stem the tide. This has been a game lost by poor leadership and laziness. Our worst loss since 2019-2020.ย

That's probably the mentality they went in with

I don't understand the hype around Sparrow, not really a good contributor most days.

We lack hunger and desire. 2021 we were manic. We are a shadow of that group

It's a concern.ย

Bombers are playing a faultless game really.ย  Collectively we are terrible.ย  None of the names have fired a shot. Good quarter by Petty.

This is true but it's amazing how quickly that manifested.

Brad Scott has given goody an absolute bath, has showed everyone else very simply how to beat us.ย

No Gawn and no Lever and we have 0 leadership.

Embarrassing from Viney, May, Trac, Tmac and Oliver. Doing nothing.

ย

Itโ€™s a very lifeless performance across the board. Iโ€™m actually shocked at a side that is this mature has looked so disengaged.

Things could have been worse. This could have been at the G. Take the loss and move on.

Clearly we are a bit off, given the WA travel and shorter break than Essendon, gives them an edge. Throw in the injuries to Lever has thrown us off balance.ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
