Why so, Jontee?

Coz I want Fritta to kick another bag on him.

Kayo from NSW

A bottle of whisky and a pack of smokes at my place in Bangkok.

Will follow the game on afl match centre and DL. Couldnt be bothered finding a pub that televises the game.

There would be imbeciles saying ...is this rugby?(yanks).

.....kiwi and Sydney bogans babbling that aussie rules is an irish game..  i dont socialise with westerners in Thailand anymore. Bogans with their 'pee nois' .

Go dees!

For me it is going to be a full week-long trip down to Melbourne for what will be my first Demons game in person since the couple of bizarre games we played in Sydney, mid 2021

The trip will also will be the first time even my immediate family has been in one place together since pre-Covid - the first time I've been in the same room as both of my mother and brother in more than two years.

I’ll be at a classic Citroen event in Murray Bridge with my two loves… my wife and my 1967 DS. I’ll skip the Motorkhana and meet up with an old school friend I haven’t seen since about 1969. He’s also a lifelong Demon supporter. A big win would top off the perfect day.

At least your DS can be content that your other great love isn’t a car!

The Control crew will all be jamming into Max’s Sunbeam Tiger and heading pre-game to the Prince Patrick for obligatory parmas & pots. Agent 13 will be lurking around somewhere, most likely in one of their fridges. Then over to the G, seating in the Redlegs members, level 2 Warnie stand, sans cone-of-silence.

and if we lose there will be chaos

Personally, prep for round one started a few weeks ago at the first of three DA working bees where (among many other things) we went through all our gear in readiness for the season. Well, it really began at the end of last season since not a week goes by without some manner of DA activity. And yes, meeting up for a liquid lunch constitutes DA activity. 😝

I’m currently on my way to Collingwood because the real prep starts today at 3pm for our first (official) banner-making for the year! Yay! Spirits are always sky-high at banner but I think today will be next level. ❤️💙

Leisurely drive down early afternoon, pick up stock for the business at Costco and Campbells, then into accom at the Amora River Walk in Richmond. Pre game snacks and beverages there. On the tram and into the Hassett Room at least an hour before the game. Catch up with a number of Redlegs we haven't seen since last season, particularly Nana 31. After the game into the Hassett Room for celebration drinks and another round of "It's a Grand Old Flag". Back on the tram to accom and watch the replay. Every chance I will crash and burn before seeing the replay, like Hardtack I've been off the booze since a week after Xmas.

As the Lilydale line stops at box Hill and I can't be bothered changing to get to Camberwell   I'll just watch at home.

Same every week until the line is running late may

a creeping sense of dread as 7.25pm approaches followed by elation, frustration, then - hopefully - satisfaction

thanks for sharing mate but we want to know if you are watching the game!!

I'll be going in my best mr walker gear with the lovely diana and we'll be taking guran to his first game of afl. old man mozz will stay at home to look after devil, hero and fraka. Hope to see the boys give the brotherhood of singh a jolly good thrashing, then it's back to the skull cave for replays and some good, barbecued jungle meat.

Holy smokes BA, you can do that any other time!!!

Normally yes WCW, I was in Melbourne the weekend just gone for a wedding, and the previous couple have been very busy, plus I’ll be down rd 3 for the Swans. Being in bed by 7:30 this Saturday night ready for the first bounce (we have a tv built into our wardrobe ) sounds bloody appealing right about now.

Sitting at home alone in front of the TV wondering why they're showing vision of a sad, old, unattractive man then realising I've forgotten to actually turn the telly on.

Tryna get my Old man a ticket as he hasn't been at a game for 4 or 5 years. He don't own a smartphone. Hope i won't be as toasted as I was at the Brizzy Final last year.  I still can't believe we lost.

Sitting on the couch in front of my enormous TV with a fridge full of extremely cold beers

Taking my wife to her first ever game sitting in the MCC section. She has only ever sat in the outer. My son is joining us. It’s my birthday so we are in town for the weekend. Hoping to celebrate with a big win.

What spirits are mixed together. Personally I prefer Scotch And Amaretto. =Godfather.

my Uncle had a ‘74 DS. Fully optioned.
Even today it us still a magnificent car

There are 6 of us driving in, looking forward to a 30 point win, making a bit of noise and singing the song surrounded by our Dee supporters. Then home to bed to watch the replay.!!!!! go Dees.!!

if the bloke in the TV starts talking to you, then you can start worrying!

Not sure if I will drive in from Kilmore and park my car at work in South Melbourne (free parking) or drive to Craigieburn station and catch the train from there (Seymour line works 😩). Then do the usual change trains and get the Mernda or Hurstbridge line to get to Jolimont.

Get to game, find a spot around near the interchange where I used to sit, have a pie and beer and watch from the back.

Hate being a pleb and not having a reserved seat.

All this can only happen if I get my membership sorted lol.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
