I hope this isn't the proverbial Moz, but for the past two weeks I open DL with dread - then again, that's the kind of fella I am, I must be Polish or something -Ā  hoping that it ain't gonna produce catastrophic news about accidents on the Training Track.

Thus far, with the usual shall we say minor mishaps, our boat is afloat.Ā

In the meantime, I also note that the injury/operation - dictation dictation dictation, three sausages went to the station - tally at Geelong follows a similar path to our post Premiership season. Without wishing the NOT Wells on someone, long may it continue. With their perpetual Home Draw advantage, they are not Cats at all, simply spoiled poodles.

In the good old days many teams had horrific home ground advantages ie Windy Hill, Victoria Park,Ā  Moorabbin, even Lake Oval l remember had feral home ground supporters.Ā Ā

Dave Misson working his magic at St Kilda already.Ā

I found this interesting "...competition for forward spots is strong "

We're struggling to find a good forwards

I opened this thread hoping for a treatise on the death of football vernacular since the 1980's - namely 'tiggy touch wood' for an undeserved free kick.

A toast to the downfall of Mordor; may it come in our lifetime and for long enough to enjoy.

Do we have any feral supporters? Would we recognise them?

Kossie and Fritta say HIĀ

Ā BBB and Tmac when fit say HIĀ

JVR says give me a go!!

ANB Spargs Ā say we'll be better this yearĀ

Chandler says just please give me a go also!!!Ā

We are great shape

Honestly, what could go wrong from here?

We have a fit Ben Brown..Tom McDonald ..Bailey Fritch (our Premiership Forward line) available at this stage. JVR I’m sure will be great for us but he will fight for his spot …

In 2022 our forward line was decimated.
Ā

TMac and BBB were less than half themselves. Weid was Weid, so no loss there and Max (who ain’t a forward) was injured and had less than usual input. Jackson is an athlete and will never be a KPF.Ā
Ā

Trac could not kick a consistent goal, ANB and Ā Spargo are plodders who complement structure.Ā
Ā

Ā Only Kickett and Fritta can hold their heads up.
Ā

That’s 2 out of 6/8 players who contributed in a forward line.

The forward line is our big improvement area. As a collective, and when it functions it’s a problem for opposition teams. JVR, Chandler and Schache add another element for improvement too.Ā

I guess it is competition in the sense that there is a position to be won and bidding is open.

Victoria Park and Moorabbin were the worst I ever experienced as well as Carltons home ground. In the 50's I recall at Victoria Park we were afraid to even stand next to anyone dressed in black and as for train travel home we were on edge most of the time.

Is no one concerned about Oliver’s thumb injury? Ā I accept I may be of a more paranoid nature but he’s pulling out of match sims and appears to be repeatedly injuring it and sore. How is this not even included in our injury list?Ā

I don’t think it’s his thumb at all.
If you look at the diagram below, when I saw him train and show real discomfort, he was pointing to the area I’ve circled.Ā

I don’t really know. I fractured my scaphoid bone 20 years ago and it was a real pr!ck to heal.Ā
