Looking at Choco when he is consoling Petts, he is so invested in his players I reckon he wants to go and giv eZorko a massive spray.

Only saying this to make myself feel better, but i thought zorko was the biggest grub in the league BEFORE this game. He has managed to beat his own disgusting lows. 

Was at the Gabba last night and Zorko would have been in at least 10 ‘scuffles’.

If he invested as much time in finding the football as he did sniping, he’d be a decent player.

I heard it as Brown saying, after footage of him crying, that petty might be embarrassed for his part.

Which, even if I'm right is still pathetic. I mean what possible reason would petty have to be embarrassed?

The last quarter should be viewed through the lens of that incident.

The entire team was impacted by seeing petty so obviously distressed and would have white hot angry, particularly his brothers in arm down back.

Impressive effort by our boys , particularly Harry  to remain as focused as they did and not lose the plot and do something silly.

Bin, I'm literally quoting word for word having watched it again this morning.

Brown has a history of saying dumb [censored] before thinking and this was one of it.

I re-iterate the commentary narrative last night that somehow the Dees were the ones starting all the rough stuff - the Bears, and Zorko in particular, we’re victims. Brayshaw (commentator) led this all night. Brown’s comments about Petty were from another time. Disgusting.

Brown is the type that tears would signal weakness. That's what he meant and that Petty shouldn't get upset and that if he'd just brushed it off, there wouldn't be an issue. Hence, according to Brown, he played his part in this.

Brown has the emotional intelligence of a mosquito and should be called out for it.

Someone, with skills, should post a  clip on twitter hash tagging victim blaming... Id be surprised that powers that be in TV world, or even AFL world don't have a problem with the message that sends by an employee of theirs.

Completely agree with everything you’ve said except Mitch Robinson - he actually is as tough a cats head, nothing fake there.

I know he gets a lot of flack here but Lyon is one of the very few ex player commentators that manages to keep his biases aside. When you see how Brown commentates it makes me re appreciate  Gary.

One of Kozzie’s goals in the second quarter came from an absolutely glorious bed s*** from Brisbane #27, who flinched and dropped an easy mark right in front of me. They were completely rattled.

Nah I can't get around him at all. Sure, he may put his head over the ball, but the way he snipes players off the ball yet carries on like a pork chop at any heat brought against him is rubbish IMO.

James Brayshaw should engage his brain b4 he talks. Another reason to use the mute function on the remote. Him and Brown are dinosaurs. Hope Angus doesn't send him a Xmas card this year.

The ones who should really be embarrassed by this are the TV networks who cottened onto Harry, blew it up into some huge incident and then wouldn't let it go.  There wasn't really any public interest angle they 'had to know about' in this incident, just a bunch of nosey comentators desperately trying to make a story out of something which happed on field.  Max and others were quite obviously playing a very straight bat to it post game despite the all the media prying.

In the end, I think Harry may well have feel embarrassed about this incident, but as a result of the OTT media circus around it, not any actions on his behalf.  Great job Fox and Seven (BT was one of the worst got a sniff of it and went blabbering on and carrying on that 'they'll get to the bottom of this' for pretty much 50% of the commentary time post the event).

I think James Brayshaw is very very biased against the Dees. Clearly barracked for Pies and Blues in recent games.

Johnathan (DS) Brown is a grub himself. Courageous at the footy but happy to swing his arm to the head on occasions. 
 

I was at the game and Zorko was the agitator.  Langdon runs him down, holding the ball and he proceeds to get Langdon in the head lock (no 50!!). Zorko is their skipper and wanted to rough the Dees up.  It backfired big time !! He was the super-grub last night.

Ironically, Nick Riewoldt was sitting right next to him.  Brown forgot the famous time when Nick went crying to the bench after Brown's teammate Chris Scott and Mal Michael targeted Riewoldt's broken collarbone. 

Nick didn't say anything last night but he would have seen the parallels to his incident.

Brown may have been trying to deflect blame but it was very very poor.

That was so, so bizarre.

I had a mate who went. A super passionate dees fan who makes Andylook optimistic.

I was speaking to him as he arrived and was saying what a a hole Zorko was, that he would look to stir up stuff and was a woeful captain.

He has form. Every single match.

I watched the replay last night's  I started watching from the first bounce live, so missed this- but on the replay as the lions run out of the stand I'm sure they had a pair of boxing gloves hanging above them sd they ran onto the fortunate. Several players hit them on the easy through.

I'm assuming they had some theme, maybe something like Rocky or whatever.

Pathetic.

Brown comes from the era of “if you’re someone who cries…a cry-baby, you shouldn’t be playing football”. It wasn’t that long ago, so things are changing rapidly. Listening to the game commentary - BT, Brayshaw, and then Riewoldt, Lyon and Brown in the after-match analysis, it really iterates how rank and stupid Brown’s macho-garbage attitude is. BT no stranger to this of course. As usual, Kayo-FOXTEL-7 are waaay behind the curve. The more we/viewers/other media call it out, the better. 
Nick Riewoldt, one the bravest yet least aggro players ever, nailed the Lions rubbish tough-rough idiocy perfectly, making the point that it doesn’t work, and always backfires. He was really the lone voice, and you can feel his discomfort with the tough boys club mentality that Brown represents. 
 

As to Zorko, it’s inexplicable to me that this guy is the Lions captain. His angry schoolyard ‘make it hurt’ physicality (typified by the headlock on Lingers) is simply anathema to leadership. That headlock should also have been punished by the umps.
 

I also want to praise Christian Petracca. EVERY single tussle and bit of aggro, he’s in there pulling guys away and talking them down (mostly Jack Viney!). His maturity and sense of responsibility for sportsmanship and fair play is unique. This club is extremely lucky to have him. Love the boy.
