Will cop it for this but I’d seriously consider bringing Weid for Jackson. I think we’re really struggling with our ruck combo at the moment. We’re playing Max forward too much because Jackson gives us nothing inside 50. But Max isn’t scoring enough and although Jackson is rucking a lot more minutes he’s not as good a ruckman as Max so we’re not as potent in the middle.

Weid is at least a forward who chops out in the ruck which would improve our balance. He would offer more than Jackson forward and force Max to take more ruck minutes, both of which I think are positive.

Otherwise, Spargo was putrid, Neal-Bullen continues to make poor decisions and Sparrow had no impact. Would probably bring Harmes in at a minimum to tag Neale and look at a small forward who might occasionally trouble the scorers.

Saad didn’t get a single corridor kick all night, hoof hoof as he blows it down the line. ANB was very very good.

Edit: subbing myself off. Hunt was brilliant on reflection.

I would have facepalmed myself don’t worry

In: Bowey

Out: Jordon , until someone teaches him that when he gets the ball he needs to RUN  hard, not slow the play down and allow the opposition to set up their defence.

He’d make us worse forward and worse in the ruck.

Jacko was great in the ruck early and made a contribution forward, just couldn’t nail tricky shots. They’ve got the balance right that brings Gawn and Brown in to the game as it goes on. If the team kept running they’d all get more chances as forwards.

Predict Harmes for Sparroe

Would like that plus another tall in, Smith is fast and can play small and tall. Out maybe Spargo. Nib is annoying me but apparently he plays his role?

Joel Smith or JVR in the forward line to create some dynamic contests.

Bowey in for Salem who has been awful all year.

Harmes in to tag Neale and remain a tagger for rest of his career because that’s where he plays his best football.

ANB or Spargo out because they simply do not provide the crumbing up forward we need.

Ben Brown out even though Weideman hasn’t been good we seem to play better with him in the team. I prefer Weideman to Jackson (contract distracted) as the second ruck at the moment.

Get Jordon the handbrake off the wing.

Do we have a better option than Sparrow?

Is that all?

Have to agree, one or the other or both

ANB has been near the contest but lacking any impact for a few weeks now

Spargo had a shocker tonight. Two efforts in a minute at the city end RHS fwd flank ended in Carlton goals - the first he led his opponent to the ball on the boundary line, was simply pushed out of the way and 2 kicks and a Carlton goal

Spargo simply must be dropped. Bring one of Chandler or Bowey in. Feel that KC would really add something to our forward line that Spargo does not (pressure and goal sense)

Really need a second tall forward IMO, but can't see Goody doing it.

Seriously? Spargo had 4 disposals. ANB a nothing game again.

JJ was fine.

I would bring in Harmes for ANB.

Somehow we need another tall forward but we are bereft.

Would also like to see Bowey back. Not sure how we do it.

i would like to see some changes to the side to bring in new players, we have had a lot of losses in the last couple of months and we keep swapping in and out the same players and keep getting the same results. yes we won today, but we need to improve that means giving those who are showing good form a chance to replace those that arent playing well. give them a chance to get some form back in the VFL rather than hoping they turn it on. We are down to the last game and finals, we need our best players in the side based on form, not just rotating the same players in and out.

With 2 mins left of tonight’s game I wasn’t keen for next weeks game, but this will be amazing. Two teams going all out for a top 2 spot and I’ll be lucky enough to witness it live!!

Ben Brown was fine for the way we went forward. Tirelessly created an aerial contest, always outnumbered and often had to make enormous ground to get to the contest.

We will make no changes.
Fortune favours the brave. We took a punt on Bowey last year and it paid off. Can’t see us having the ball to take a punt on JVR.

I was actually saying to someone recently he seems an absolute shadow of his former self since injury.

He looks scared of contact and his disposal has become very, very questionable.

No, bring JVR in for either of our 2 non contributing forwards in Spargo and ANB. We win enough contested ball, clearances and inside 50's to be winning games comfortably. Our dysfunctional forward entries, which are by design, should mean that Spargo and ANB should have plenty of opportunities for ground balls. They're nowhere to be seen.

In the dying minutes, ANB has clean possession a metre and a half inside the boundary, and just runs over the boundary before trying to kick it. His thought process is 2 seconds behind the play. He needs to be dropped, but it won't happen.

Out - kicking down left wing to wall to wall opposition

In - kicking to Hunt on right wing, all alone (...& many times)

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
