I have no idea who will win tonight.  At our best we can smash any team in the comp, but as we've seen too often there seems to be an inability to finish games off, where half the team goes missing for a half of football.  I can only hope that something has clicked during the week and there truly is a hunger to win.  If we're up by 30 points and Carlton come back and win I'll be guttered.

Maybe we should let the Blues get out to a 4 goal lead at halftime then run them down as was happening to them earlier in the year. Psychologically it's easier to get on a roll chasing a lead than defending one 😜

Will definitely be another tough match, hope the boys don’t go to sleep in the 2nd half AGAIN, as Carlton finished full of running last week

I wouldn’t read too much into Carlton getting close to the Lions in the last quarter sisso. Brisbane well and truly packed up shop by then, too busy thinking about their 5 day break heading into the Saints game.

In 2021 we stepped up sure, but this year we’ve folded at the sight of pressure and lost 6 games against top 8 sides. I’d consider games against our main competition as big games, like the two against the Pies in front of huge crowds at the MCG as a prime example.

I’m still hopeful we can get going and hit out straps again in finals, but evidence says 2022 demons don’t handle pressure well.

Hard to get excited about the game. The team is firing on four cylinders out of 6 at best.

If we win tonight which we should it all  comes down to a 50/50 Brisbane game.

The Pies loss last week with our dominance inside 50 shows we are simply not clicking

Hoping our ball getters have more of an impact. I want lots of goal assist and smart plays.

Our handballs have to be to players with more freedom.

Score well, when if we are dominating, otherwise we give them a sniff.

I want us to hit the scoreboard hard in the third and to keep the momentum going into the last quarter.

Would love to see some stab passes into the forward 50.

Can't let Carlton out mark us, the talls need to be there at each aerial contest.

Pressure, pressure and take it on when it is our time.

Need us to play as a team, do the roles, the one percenters and some magic.

Time for our best.

Go Dees.

Blues odds are way too juicy

gut instinct this will be closer than many think

Odds on Cripps first goal or Cripps pass to a forward for first goal?

Time is now dees, Blues missing all their midfield depth.

Foot on the throat and remind the competition we're still a force in 2022

They have their best 3 in Cripps, Walsh and Cerra. Our midfield depth is nothing to write home about anyway.

The Dees will heading into the finals winning these last two games easily as their goal kicking clicks into 'finals' gear. We are playing ourselves into impressive form in the middle. Brisbane was lucky to win last night. A sad display of King's goal kicking yips a reminder to us the importance of a healthy mindset.

But we know how these "no champs" seem to turn it on against us.

JUH kicks 5 straight against us, then kicks 4 points in his next game.

Johnson gets 4 straight against us, 3rd or 4th game.

Reid and McDonald 3 each and Reid BOG.

Been going on for years, where players start their careers, or have their best game against us. A classic example was Warren Ralph for Carlton. He played 21 games for them and 2 against us, scoring 8 goals in the first and 4 in the next. You could find loads of examples if you searched through the records. We seem to be that team where a player can have a day out against us.

Two teams who have shown real weakness in the 2nd half. The last quarter of the game will be either a fierce battle or a skills-and-intensity fade out. Our best is far better than theirs, but they are good enough if we don't bring our best.

I hate Carlton but I honestly don't know who will win.

The problem is we’ve folded so many times this season now that all the other sides are going to believe they can win if they keep on coming…..no way I think tonight is going to be a walkover

I’m tipping an annihilation tonight. Last year wasn’t a fluke, all things considered we’ve been playing some good footy the last 4-5 weeks even though we’ve had the three losses. We know what’s at stake, whilst the 4 points is the priority we will be fully aware of how much % will decide the top 4.

Just win boys!

What crowd numbers are we expecting today? 50k or 70k ?

It's our last H&A game at the G this year. Looks like it'll be perfect weather. No excuses for Dees fans not to show up to this one. With Carlton pushing for finals I expect it to be at least 70k, hopefully nudge 80k

Message to the players:  You may be aware that you did untold damage to the good humour and well-being of all of us Demonlanders last weekend.  Please understand that there is a huge onus of responsibility on you to make it up to us this evening.  We are mostly forgiving people.  You know what’s required ……….. just get it done!  Thanks

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
