Caro “ Yze will take Mark Williams with him to Essendon if he gets the job”

Big losses if this happens, better have some back up plans MFC.

Reckon we'll probably get in Caracella if Yze leaves.. he's been involved with Geelong and Richmond flags, so has some pedigree..

So if Yze and Williams goes. Who fills the void? McVeigh? Who else is there? The Clarke and Dagan potential vacancies may have a flow on effect to senior assistant roles too.

Caro suggests Yze could bring Mark Williams with him, that would be a disaster for mfc. Williams having worked at the club years ago

With the average year from the coaching group, a bit of a shake up and some fresh ideas might be a good thing

Really rate Caracella, could do a lot worse.

IF he takes choc with him

THEN i can't wait to hear how their presentation to the board, with sheedy still on it, goes

According to the little paper, Adem Yze is now the front runner for the Bombers’ gig. It will be a tough job but I think he’s up to it.

Interesting if he gets the job, as the Bombers sacked Rutten to get an experienced senior coach, but didn’t.

Looks like we might need a new Assistant Coach.

Yze may want Williams but why would Williams leave?

He is a much valued member of a premiership club.  At Ess he would spend his time putting out political spot fires and protecting Adem's back.

I would have thought Williams has had a gut full of political stuff in his coaching career and wouldn't care for any more.

I reckon he would stay!

Reckon the club would be pretty [censored] off if Yze took Williams with him. Sounds like Caro stirring the pot again.

I reckon Chocco has a shorter expiry date than many in similar positions.

Pretty intense character.

He might appreciate a new challenge and of course has Essendon ties.

But two years at Melb. might be too short.

You'd be happy introducing a 'moral vacuum' into the club. Jesus wept.

The Hun stating the Yze has been called in today for a 2nd interview. 2nd interview or making sure he is not caught up in the Hawthorn mess before they make the coaching call.

He had the second interview yesterday. Nice to see him bring his Dees bag to it!IMG-20220921-WA0004.jpg.50e1fc9a0fb30786eeb0e22391fad8fe.jpg

I agree re Chocco. I wrote the following not long after he arrived:

Tony, I think Mark is the type of bloke that inspires initially but after a time he may tend to irritate - particularly the other coaches. I think he has a shelf life of about 3 years.

AGreed for sure.  The team AND the coaching panel need constant refresh to avoid slump with this list of talent and Yze leaving is great for him (and maybe his return to the Dees later) but opens up  coachhing panel shake up opportunities.

He and Williams would leave with best wishes. Caracella can sign on any time he likes.

Leigh Matthews rates the list manager/head recruiter as the most important jobs. We need to keep Taylor, probably Lamb too, with the past record. Assistant coaches can come and go. Although we will need a strong personality to keep Goodwin’s man management style balanced. That means tactical coaching and also someone to push Goodwin on his favourites - which is always the downfall of those type of coaches - the currency they trade in is loyalty and not performance.

Yeah if you get a good recruiter and list manager you  hold on for dear life.

I don't Yze to get the job at essendon.

If he does, I wish him nothing but failure.

I don't ever want Essendon getting up off the canvas. Maybe in another 30 years I'd be fine with it.

The only thing that add could to the sting of Yze going to the team I absolutely despite would be Hird coming to the Dees as an assistant...

Looks like he's auditioning for Saturday Night Fever.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
