Sad to hear the news.

Wonderful bloke, great leader, very good player.

Very tough on the field, complete gentleman off it.

Sad news.  I cannot remember the game at the 'G, but pre-game he and other legends of the club, were on the field.  Noel was fist pumping, as he walked off the oval.  I things were pretty low for us back then.  I am glad he got to see and hold the cup.

RIP mate.  Condolences to family and friends.

Fancy lining up against Noel in his heyday. That face would have been terrifying. It spoke of unforgiving toughness and character. As his face with the 2021 Cup spoke of gentleness, peace and pride.

A true great of the Club who linked the past glory years with our most recent triumph.

Forever a part of the rich footy folk law at the Demons. Legendary premiership captain of one the most legendary football teams of the VFL era. Never saw him play, but was given an insight about how tough Noel really was. A lady who was a personal friend of Noel's told me he still had stop marks in his back well after the game was played on a Saturday afternoon. Which he revealed at a party later that night. Don't make them that 'tough' anymore.

Sad to hear the mighty Noel McMahen has departed this earth. Noel was a tough, skilful defender and just charged through packs  as if they were tissue paper. He was fast , strong and had a very high knee lift which made him a frightening sight. Get a bump from Noel and you would know about it. Ask Collingwood's Bobby Rose who was completely but fairly flattened by our intrepid captain. What chance did the opposition have with the dynamic Donny Williams on the other half back flank. So glad you got to see the Demons take out another flag. RIP mate.

Sad to see one of our very best gone. But many memories of him as a true champion for our older fans.  Saw the Cup triumph last year so fitting for him.

Condolences to his family.

Noel Played before my time but through my old man I had the good fortune to meet him on numerous occasions and was thrilled he was included in the premiership cup presentation. Just a lovely man, the family must be so proud.

Valè Legend

I had the pleasure and  privilege  of meeting Noel a few times at MFC functions. His charming and friendly manner belied one of the toughest men ever to play for our club. Not only was he a great CHB, he was brutal in his attack on the footy and alongside his teammate , the incomparable Don Williams, formed part of the best defence the MFC has ever seen. Noel was The Enforcer.

I am so happy Noel lived to see us win our 13th flag and hold the Cup.

RIP Noel

My mum (a mad Demons fan) and dad (a Swans man) were huge fans of this bloke and loved his tough nature. A real man of his time and club legend. Imagine the team with him and Barassi running around - frightening AND inspiring!

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
