We arenโ€™t competitive in the air aside from our defenders. Have to change out game plan a bit - as long down the line is killing us.

Have wanted to trust in him, but Weid offers nothing.ย  Mauled in the ruck, and cant provide strength in the contest

The umpiring is YET AGAIN A JOKE.ย

Seriously the umps need GLASSES.ย

ABSOLUTELY USELESS just like last year.ย

It is not their eyesight. ย They know what is going in. They are downright cheats.ย

WTF. Everytime ball goes in Crows 50 Walker gets a head high tackle. And May needs to stop kicking long to the Crows ruckman. Just dumb.

This game really is going the way of last years. We need to work our butts off this won't be an easy kill, we need to get repeat forward 50 stoppages and more scoring chances and we'll do it.

Stats Id like to see:

1 succesful bombs into the square

2 where free kicks are won and lost

Stop blaming the umps. We need to tackle lower. 3 highs against Walker in row have turned the gameย

Nothing like throwing your head back.

1st half

X decision makingย

x slow play and kicking to packsย

x overhandballing to players under more pressureย

x whoโ€™s on Dawson !!! Ffs - put Neal-bullen in him

x kicking to Oโ€™Brien!!!!

x oliver 2 misses, Harmesy bad miss from 3metres outย

๐ŸคฎWeid - outmarked outmuscled outplayed dropped marks poor tacklesย

๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎumps -12 to 6!

๐ŸคฎPickett and Bedford ย nowhere near itย

๐ŸคฎGoodwin coaching - man up on Dawson ย Low kicks to contests ย Quick play on footyย

๐ŸคฌMay on Walkerย

๐Ÿ˜Š lever petty Brayshaw Trac Clarry โ€ฆ and maybe Jordonย

ย

I am hoping, and thinking, we'll run over them in the second half (need a change in how we drive the ball forward), but that depends on how much gas the umps have in the tanks. Truly atrocious today.

Frees 12-6

walker has a neck but Demons players donโ€™tย

crows at least 2 goals from frees

They donโ€™t need glasses they are seeing everything. They are choosing which frees to pay. We got none that quarter. Crowd thinks that is too many.

We have a Captain on the ground and he should be asking why it is happening before they start the second half.

Also this bombing into the forward line to a one on two or even three is just dumb. Kick it wide or along the ground, to get our small forwards into the game.

Seeing Burgo in the Adelaide rooms makes me sick with rageย

Umpiring is a joke. They get crowd frees for nothing.

Great tough game of footy, Crows playing some great footy, so are we.

Unfortunately Weid is trying so hard, 2nd efforts etc... but his lacking of marking ability is killing us. Concrete hands in so many marking contests.

Actually, we have 1 remaining issue to fix if we want to go all the way this year: contested marking. BBB, Weid, and M Brown are getting to everything but marking nothing. Fritsch is struggling to even get to a marking contest.

When people throw themselves headfirst and forward deliberately playing for the free itโ€™s difficult to tackle. That last one to Tex wasnt actually high. The umpires should not pay those ones as players endanger themselves leading with their head.ย

AFl do not want us toย  get too many games ahead..

need to stop kicking down the line to their talls who are intercepting everything. This is exactly what we want opposition teams to do when max is playing. How dumb, pass it around. Sparrow does some good things but has not idea about moving the ball quickly, he has had multiple opportunities to do a short kick down the line to a free player but holds it up and does a long kick down the line. Must admit the umpiring is pretty poor, tex's ruck free for blocking was a disgrace, we see their ruckman putting their arms around our ruckman and throwing them out of the way but thats ok. Ben Brown is being manhandled as is oliver and they are getting nothing. We have far too many players who have done absolutely nothing they need to lift. the coach needs to remind them that we have players in the VFL that are ready to take their place.

ย

The lack of quality ruckman huge factor. No Jackson or Gawn any team would struggle. It one of those 4 points games we have to tough out. Crows at home no easy assignment but a loss here will hurt season prospect big time. Damn injuries

Anyone ask Bedford what he was thinking!!!
55 metres out - burning off his opponent - open 50 - open goal square โ€ฆ

and kicks 40 metres to the pocket where no one is. Really defies any level of thinking ?!?!?! ย

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If youโ€™re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footyโ€”you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Caseyโ€™s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down thereโ€”and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwinโ€™s summer of love.ย Manyย issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

Weโ€™re back! That was fun. The Mighty Deesโ€™ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commandingย 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
