De Koning looks a decent defender

He’s a gun.

Would be my pick out of all the rising stars so far this year.

How do the dogs keep getting these good game times and FTA coverage?

Literally kicks himself forward off the Geelong player's front. Absolutely pathetic. Should be reported.

If Weightman doesn’t cop a fine for that dive then it will be open season for the divers

This is an incredible choke from Jeelong.  They were absolutely playing with the Dogs early

No Tom Stewart… Wow

All I’m hearing every few seconds is Outside 5

He's really earning himself a bad wrap.  Someone at the club needs to take him aside and have a little chat

It's pretty much a Doggy thing.  They prefer to step back from the mark and not 'Stand' the mark but instead go back and protect an area.  If they dont stand the mark then that area has to be outside 5 meters from the mark.

A great idea for defenders in an OOTF situation as they can protect against the inside kick, a play on inside for a long raking kick over the back and/ or the switch a little better instead of standing the mark on the line and watching as the player runs off into field to do one of the above.

Jeez. all kicked off here

Smith is in real trouble. he'll miss multiple games for that

Baz Smith will get 3 weeks for that. Stupid.

Im thoroughly confused by the down field rule. The umpires are literally encouraging players to break the rules to slow play down. Talk about not understanding the game.

Yes but half the time it’s not clear whether the ump is saying get outside 5 or you are outside 5   Please explain

Bailey Smith as mad AF.

Smith gone with that Head Butt

That is not on

Liverpool kiss ...

His role model must be Skull Murphy ... gee, I'm ageing myself with that reference.

I think the push in the back of a player shoving them into a pack is one of the most potentially dangerous actions in our game.

Seems to go unnoticed by the tribunal.

Hope Geelong choke

Why the [censored] does BT have to comment on what’s clearly going to the tribunal? Insinuating that Toohey was acting. He’s such a blow hard. The game is better off without these boring dinosaurs who editorialise the game instead of simply commentating.

The Demons are back on the road again for the third time this season when they take on the red hot ladder leaders the Sydney Swans at the SCG. Can the Demons take another big scalp? Who comes in and who goes out?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
