GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs Fremantle

Recommended Posts

Well this is the most nervous I have been on a game day for a while, not necessarily because of Fremantle but I am a little superstitious and this is my first game since pre covid. If we lose it may well be my only game for the year.

Nice work WCW

what happens to banners after they are used?

have a feeling this one might end up at your house? Imagine having it in your driveway and driving through it everyday 😂

Unfortunately, once used, the banners are scrapped. Not able to be recycled since sticky taped crepe paper.
With milestone ones such as today’s the pic is saved in case the family of the milestone player wants it. Tmac’s dad jumped on the opportunity. He was v keen  to get this…

Now you’ve opened the floodgates, Dub. Ima tell y’all a story that’ll warm the cockles of your heart. (Be warned: I’ve had two large coffees and a 500ml can of Red Bull. There’s zero chance of shutting me up😁)

So,

Hunty’s 100th game was our Anzac Eve game. The banner that week was already full of pre-planned content so unfortunately his milestone couldn’t be acknowledged.

The Army decided to make his milestone banner the following week. It was decided it would be a surprise. Everyone but Jayden knew. Even his mum knew.

So, on the day, the players all stopped at the banner and looked back at Jayden and Harmesy who were bringing up the rear. Jayden was looking towards the ground. Harmesy tapped his arm and pointed to the banner. Apparently the look on his face was priceless. And this is what he beheld…

His mum also took home the awesome pic.

This week my kids got selected to play Auskick at half time today! And I’ll be alongside them either as a goal umpire or ‘sign holder’ (whatever that means!).
Not sure who’s more excited , me or the girls!

Let's get behind Melksham:  unforeseen-success-melksham-s-role-in-demons-rise

“I actually didn’t come to Melbourne for finals and flags and stuff like that,” he said....“The club was struggling – or hadn’t had much success...“It’s been awesome.”

While Melksham didn’t receive a premiership medallion in the Demons’ historic 2021 premiership, the role he played in getting the club there should never be underestimated.  And seeing some of his best mates achieve the ultimate is something he is incredibly proud of.

He has been very good for us, not great now but he was key when we needed some silk and experience while our now stars developed around him.  And have now overtaken him.  He should be praised for his role in their development and his role for us.

We are missing a handful of our best, which brings the two teams closer together, but I expect our system to prevail.
Dees by around 5 goals, I reckon.
I’d love to see a significant improvement in our forward half connections and goal kicking accuracy.

Excited to see us put another team of pretenders to the sword. Had a quick word to the big fella this morning and he tells me it's "...in the bag!"

Don’t you mean the big lady Rev! I hope you are right I am off to the game this afternoon. I think we will miss Langdon , him and Tmac out levels the field a lot.

Could not agree more he is still one of the best kicks at the club.

i was one of those anti-milkshake haters during his first season with us

but it was when he was shifted from half-back to half-forward that i became a HUGE fan - think it was defensive effort on jj in the game in which lever did his knee at the docklands carpark that made me admire his workrate, and the goal off two steps in the final vs hawthorn that made me love him

hope he has a ripsnorter today

Freo are a low scoring team as it is so I don’t see them kicking a winning score against us

Our superior talent and forward options to get us through in a low scoring, dour defensive affair

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die!
