Injury report from Tuesday said he'd be available, so you'd assume not COVID affected.

Goody's presser earlier in the week he said they'd weigh up whether he should come in after a week without training, so reasonably safe to assume that's the reason.

BBB had a full preseason and missed only 1week and would have trained alone during the week.

On BBB I suppose we might know a little more as to why he's out if he plays VFL on Saturday night.

Big game tonight...

Should be perfect conditions

Where would he have trained? He couldn't leave the house.

Could even be the preparation of flying up on the day of the game. Perhaps match committee just decided that the whole big picture added up to not ideal preparation.

Just providing the info from the club around it.

This will be over at quarter time.

Port are finished.

Ken will sacked by round 7

The Weed will do some wacking

Really good summary.

With Lever back in, I can't see their forwards penetrating our defence system too easily. We are no way near our best and therefore vulnerable to players like Boak and Wines, but they don't have too many others to threaten us at the moment. Port are young, a bit thin on talent, and a whole lot thin on endeavour and effort.

I now Burgess has moved to Port, and I remember the Dees struggling at times early on in his reign. Port possibly fatigued by their new fitness regime?

Dees by 18, in another ugly win. I don't reckon our best footy will emerge until round 8 or later.

Burgess is at Adelaide

Can't help think the judgment might have been different had Weid played poorly.

I can’t remember anything like our opening rounds fixtures where we played our first four games on a Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday night. I could get used to the perks of being good.

As a supporter I don't see night games as a perk. To me they are a pain. Good for club coffers I admit but I would rather day games.

MFCSS.

I don't think you can play Brown, tmac and the Weid in same side. I hope Weid puts in another good game as two in a row has not been his form up till now.

I no where you are coming from OD I struggle to stay awake for night games and going live is not on for me

Port will put up a fight but ultimately we should be too good and get the win. We’re not a great form so far this year, so I doubt we’ll belt them. We do have a good record in Adelaide in recent years though.

Tipping a 3-4 goal win.

I hate to say it but I think Dees have won more at night than they have day games, someone will have the stats. I always feel more positive at night.!!!

Frankly BBB, although I thought he would be in the Team today, in fairness has not trained all week. Goody and the selection Panel are renowned for limited changes and the mantra that all players should be seen as 100% fit.  OK I was proved wrong but clearer heads have prevailed @ selection... That's why I would make a really bad selector.

Boak and Wines are freewheeling mids who hardly ever run back the other way. CLARRY does, Vines does, Tracc does which is another reason whu we link up in the back half andcrrate overlap and opportunity. Port arent slowbut with so.any downhillers they get stung... often. Connor Rozee Georgiardis can kick goalsbut are inno hurray toplay defensively when thy need to go. They wont fix this in a week. Also watch that Lycett try to burt Max at every opportunity with bordeline dirty play

Gosh cannot believe another round is here already, it just felt like a few days ago I was at the G watching us beat essendon.

Well like last week we face opposition who are well under the pressure. Thankgod Dixon isn't playing.

I can kind of see why BBB isn't in. As Goodwin said he hasn't seen him for a week and you can't do a lot of training in your backyard unless you have a lot of acres, also Weideman did well. I guess it's up to Tommmy to step up.

Anyway just get the 4 points, no injuries and get home.

How many demons fans who are flying over tonight have now decided to stay on so they can go to the AFLW GF?  They need all our support

PF, is this in Klingon?

I'd hate to say anything that could be taken as positive towards Port or their fan base but,

I see tonight going 1 of 2 ways.

Either we give them an absolute smashing, win by 40 plus points (i hope this one)

or

They rally under the pressure and give us one hell of a fight where we have to be at our absolute best to win.

Given their previous success at choking hard under pressure, i think it may be the first

Agrree.

And I reckon bb would be in if we assessed Port as a greater threat and/or we weren't 3-0

By the sound of things in the City of Churches, Port are already in the Last Chance Saloon. Not even Burgess’s fitness regime can save them (wrong side of town). To paraphrase  the late JW “We’re here to kick power’s [censored] and drink whisky. And Pilgrim we’re all out of whisky.” On the question of margin we’ll again defer to Marion Robert Morrison quote ‘Just one more question Pilgrim. How far up your (self-censored) do you you want my boot?’

Burgess doesn't work for Port.

Interesting game tonight.

Annoyed at two interstate games in a row with another six day break. Thanks Afl😖

As such I'm a little worried but I say this every week.

Anyhow great to have JL back in.

Can Weid string two good games together is the question tonight and hopefully with bbb breathing down his neck he can. Same to Tmac...he's under the pump.

Kozzie and or Fritta are bound for some goals.

Enjoy Flanders.

Us by 27 points with a third quarter blitz.

Suffer in you jocks port fans.

Cant see Trac having two relatively quiet games in a row either.

Having just listened to the Adem Yze interview (excellent work) We will be ready for this one.
Port will either have a Red Hot Crack or they will stay away from the ball (Last years Preliminary Final) as a broken team.
hard to tell from here which scenario it will be

Lever Back in the side is a huge inclusion, I hope the Weid kicks 6-7 tonight

He can do it

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
