Watching it back it's a direct attack on someone just doing their job.

To bring in the mental health perspective is an absolute joke based on what has taken place and what you're upset about. Morris was reporting facts.

To then also try and put it back on Tom Morris and claim he's giving everyone else a bad name is straight up bullying. He is trying to turn everyone else in that room against him, and it should be called out.

Don't forget the apparent 'conflict of interest' because he barracks for the Dees...

I'm not a Morris fan at all but he didn't back down...good for him.

I clearly don’t read the news. What’s the background going back to last year?

Same.

I mean the boy has guts for turning up to the actual presser in the first place.. Was completely shocked when I heard him pipe up.

Takes a leaf out of their supporters book.   Just a massive bunch of sooks

Full presser.

Fair play to Tom Morris for doing his job and then giving it right back. Takes guts to stand up to a guy who was trying to bully and belittle him like that.

His attitude reminds me of Terry Wallace’s Bulldogs of the late 90’s. It’s always ‘backs against the wall. Everyone hates us’. You can’t keep that up forever, as it’s mentally exhausting.

He got upset at Damien Barrett last year too. It’s like he needs to feel the world is out to get him. It’s an old, outdated world view that’s really bad for your mental health.

I think the Damo Barrett one has been going on for years now.

The one you may be referring to was Kane Cornes when he called out Adam Treloar's (so he should) poor finals performance.

Wow. Goodwin and Bevo - yin and yang.

Gee I hope Bevo hasn't become as they would say in pro wrestling 'a mark for himself'.

Coming from someone whose politics are admittedly left, I thought the quoting of Che Guevara and Emma Goldman bloody weird. If he is now calculating his actions to be seen as some type of iconoclast then the Dogs will need a quiet word with him.

I think we now know who's carrying the biggest scars from last year

Loved Bevo as a player, he's not in a good space

Hope Mick Malthouse aint one of his mentors

Oh I had now idea. I hate Damien Barrett so I avoid his nonsense like the plague, but I stumbled on something last year and so thought it was new. I also dislike Kane Cornes, so maybe Bevo’s on to something 🤔

Well I'm sure that'll help plug the leak back at the kennel... Deary me what an embarrassment.  There's certainly something to be said for maintaining composure in a leadership role.  It's not a journalist's fault if there are internal issues within the club.

Framing Morris is a demons spy is too funny.

Playing the mental health card because Hunter is dropped is just sad, even if he is struggling mentally he’s dropped, it’s not a huge issue. Bevo made it worse naming him, dropping him then making him sub.

The "health and well being" we should be concerned about is Bevo's. The guy's snapped.

And journos are going to journo. What about the leaks about our club? The club handled them brilliantly, but here's Bevo practically frothing at the mouth over a team selection issue.

Che Guevara was one weird cat and hardly a role model. Bevo's becoming the poor man's Malthouse. At least Malthouse's mad utterings were based on some kind of sense.

On the basis of the game tonight, Bevo's Presser and the 70's porn star mo, I'm calling it now...... the Bulldogs will not make the 8 this season and a new coach next season.

Never seen anything like that. Surely the dogs media manger should have stepped in earlier there..

Bevo has lost it, we are living completely rent free in his head and knows they can't beat us

I might be on my own here but I think that's absolute [censored] poor form by Beveridge.

Whether or not we like how journalists go about there business I think all Tom Morris was doing was simply his job. I mean in the end he actually got it right? Hunter was actually a late out today only to be then brought back in when JJ became a last minute out.

Beveridge is really showing his true colours of late in the past 12 months. Becoming a bigger sore loser then Chris Scott.

You are not on your own.

Total public bullying, of a young journo, without any right of reply.

Disgusting behaviour, by a Coach who has lost it.

I hope Fox Footy bans the Dogs from all interviews and publicity for the next few months.

The AFL should be horrified at this behaviour, at their own media conference. $100k fine would not be out of the question.

Lets hear how the other journos treat this disgusting episode, on the opening night of the season.

Wow, if Goody is a bully privately, from a few comments to a doctor, this guy has made that look like a tea party.

PS: What about the journo's mental health, after that slanderous, public, verbal assault. Again, disgusting behaviour Bevo and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Agree, he seemed way off in his presser way before teeing off at TM.

This is where it really became a sh*tshow! In essence he’s saying that Tom Morris barracking for MFC means he’s conspiring to damage the Bulldogs. This is frankly first order ‘sore loser’ stuff, and a shameful embarrassment to the club and his team.  If Bevo’s not well, and it’s perilously close to appearing that way, then he genuinely needs help. Otherwise this is a disgraceful performance from someone whose job requires much higher standards. I abhore gutter journalism. Tom Morris was just doing his job.

Didn't he deck Barrett in the toilets at the Brownlow a few years back? Classic case of short man syndrome.

He did learn under Clarkson. So did Hardwick for that matter - hmm I'm sensing a pattern here.

It’s inconsequential what Morris reported on and who his source was. That was nothing but a chest-thumping and egotistical display (with a bit of cry-baby thrown in there for good measure), that was unnecessary is that setting (or any setting).

Bevo has lost the plot and looks mentally unstable. If I were a Dogs supporter I’d be concerned someone that loose is senior coach. If he can act like that live on National TV imagine what he’d act like when he gets unhinged behind closed doors.

The media conference rivals the Kevin Keegan presser when he blew up before Newcastle United capitulated in the league in 96. Bevo’s is probably worse.

Can anyone also explain what the soft cap has to do with anything?

Hunter’s had issues. Baz Smith had issues over summer. Clubs have trimmed back their welfare departments.

Not convinced it’s a valid excuse but Bevo does care for his players and AFL players and coaches are struggling. Struggling more than everyday folk - I doubt it.

Long bow from Bevo but he might be saying cut Hunter some slack because he’s dropped due to having a less than ideal summer.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
