That presser from Goody was bloody impressive.  A coach that does not speak BS!  quite remarkable

He is a different person to the 2019 version at pressers.

Genuine warmth and care for the players.

Yeah, but is he still the right guy?

I'd much prefer to lose Brayshaw than Jackson though. If we lost Jackson, are we going to be the next Geelong and spend the next 10 years trying to find a ruckman?

I've been following Melbourne since the late 80s and we've always had a decent ruckman (O'Dwyer, Stynes, White, Jamar, Gawn, Jackson). Hasn't been a weakness of ours.

Tasty morsel.

I always saw Tim as on the money, back 15 years ago, when he was a Channel 10 luminary in the Eastern States. Is this still the case?

Yep, biggest scoop of vanilla ice-cream ever.

This just in, Andrew Brayshaw (scratch that - Nat Fyfe) will play for either Melbourne or Fremantle in 2023.

See…………….I can do it too Tim 🤪

And neither was that a successful era.

Scott lycett/nathan vardy

Toby nankervis

Jordan Roughhead.

These are premiership ruckman.  Much prefer to have 2 way running, smart, courageous hard midfielders. The ruckman is the cream, its not the substance. Overpaying to keep Jackson and losing Brayshaw would be a decent misstep imo.  Also, Collingwood says hi.

Just watched the videos of Angus and the press conference of Goody- I am now feeling that much more confident that he will re sign with us.

As an aside I am so impressed also how Goodwin responded to a question on how he would feel if Yze wanted to pursue his coaching career elsewhere.  This club really does walk the talk when it comes to being respectful- I am a very proud demon fan

Hannan left because we had no more cash to offer him and Bulldogs swooped.

Hannan left cos he realised he would not make our GF side. Simple as that......

We wanted to see him improve his defensive game, we loved what he did on offense but he simply didn't work hard enough the other way and would fade out of games completely as a result.

The dogs offered him job security and more consistent games in the seniors so pretty easy decision for all involved there

Fortunately for MH he got to be there on the day when the team that drafted him had the ultimate success

Just read that Carlton are now into Amon & Brayshaw....

Given the amount they have spent on blokes like Jack Martin, Adam Saad and Zac Williams it would amaze me if they have much salary cap....

Must be going back to the old brown paper bag days.

Was that from a reliable report?

IF Gus wants more midfield time he won't get it at Carlton with Cripps, Cerra, Walsh etc settled there.

Wishful thinking by Carlton.

Move on.

Who was teh last player we lost that we really wanted to keep? its been a while. Gus has been huge for 2 years and is obviously happy within himself and has matured to the point that becoming a fill in or in case of emergency player has not worried him.

Id be surprised if he left to be honest but who knows. If its a case of Lose Brayshaw to keep Sparrow would you be ok with it?

I'm going way back and saying Scott Thompson.

Jeff Farmer before that.

Angus should be stripped of his Melbourne Premiership medallion if he ever goes to Carlton! (only half joking)

He went missing when the team was under pressure and takes the wrong option on lots of occassions, I have the opinion he was and is an ordinary player who is just an opportunist and rarely creates goals from nothing.

I actually prefer Brayshaw in the backline than on the wing. I feel like he is much better in defence. But I don't blame him for wanting to be an inside mid somewhere. He could be a top 5 Brownlow finisher if given a full time inside mid role somewhere.

I would say Scully. Club wanted to keep him but he was never invested like Gus.

Possibly correct and his best was at the Demons. Hindsight probably suggests in the end we didn't really miss him that much.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
