I think McVee is the best kick of our 2021 draft crop. His foot skills look very, very good. I thought Taj 's were the best really and other sides of his feet. But sample size small on all and all covered good distance. 1 Quote

As for our new recruits, I can honestly say I believe the club can do no wrong with the selections they make these days. We have winners on and off the field in this club. This was a great 'highlights' reel of BH. It made him look very coachable, very ready to develop to the big-time level, very innovative and 'sharing' with the ball and in getting the ball. 4 Quote

Really I just think you comment wildly with rash generalisations and maybe your knowledge is very shallow. Imagine if any of our Coaches reported like this a player would not know what they were good at or not. Really not worth reading your posts Mach 5 as they lack critical detail . M I think you need a cuddle mate. A+ for effort though. 1 1 Quote

Hopefully you're right about getting good depth with his kicks as that is important attribute for a potential winger. Still pretty high for field kicks though I reckon. A big factor in why his field kicking is so hit or miss. Near the end of the season I read a stat that was something like trac was number one for total inside 50 kicks. But of the top 50 was last for targets hit! 2 Quote

We’ve had a number of guys really improve their kicking game in the last 12 months (Oliver & Langdon come to mind), I really think we’re providing a great environment for players to develop their skills. Am comfortable that Williams & co will help Howes clean up deficiencies in technique, he already seems to make good decisions with ball in hand, which is often half the trouble. 7 Quote

I think his ball drop has improved but we will see next year. I would bet he will have the most goal assists in the league. And Oliver the most handballs to the player with the most goal assists in the league. Howes has plenty of time to develop the ball drop from the limited footage might be an area he needs to work on 2 Quote

The guy has just played one of the all-time great GF games - replete with superlative kicks, from the penetrating to the precise - and people are debating the dodgy height of his ball drop (so to speak). You couldn't invent it. 4 1 1 Quote

I'm really glad I didn't mention his disposal efficiency for the season was 62% - placing him at 6 on tbe Frost Salem scale. Edited November 29, 2021 by binman 1 1 1 Quote
tiers 2,883 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Too late to change his ball drop. Good coaching will identify how to take advantage of his kicking. Clarrie's kicking style could also be criticised for not being as classy as Salem's, but so what? He is more than effective and penetrating so let it go. 2 Quote
binman 44,824 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 (edited) Let it go? You sound concerned, but fear not, I've had therapy to deal with the deep seated issues I have with trac's kicking. I have my bad days, but all in all I've made peace with it. Edited November 29, 2021 by binman 1 1 Quote

No one is wanting to change a single second of the grand final but there’s still room for improvement with even our best players and the team as a whole. The stats and the eye test both say Petracca’s kicking could get even better. Same with Oliver. Tracc especially could get a half decent left foot too. They’ve only had one season with Choco. Our draft picks get to come in working with Choco from the get go. Howes’ action looks a bit hit and miss. Choco should sort that out pretty quickly. 1 1 Quote
loges 6,767 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 While we're at it, I thought Oliver's handball to Sparrow could have been a bit flatter. 7 Quote

A question to anyone who has seen more of our new draftees than their highlights tape - how good are each boy's kicking skills on the Frost - Salem scale (Frost being 1 and Salem being 10)? I must admit I am impressed with your scale. We could make a killing out of this. How about a scale for moral fibre (De Goey being 0 and Stynes being 10), I am sure there could be many more. 2 2 Quote
