Booked in for 12:30 Sunday and my new Premiership polo and cap arrived yesterday, can’t wait.❤️💙

Was a great little experience, the staff are brilliant, friendly and excited for us Dees fans. Dropped another $100 at the AFL shop. The Drake tshirts are excellent and selling like “hot cakes” apparently.

I saw those throwback tees being advertised online the other day for all teams and was hoping ours would have Mayne Nickless or Hertz on it like the training tops I used to have. The Carlton one with Avco and Collingwood with Yakka are probably the two most iconic from that era. I'd have loved the Richmond one to have had a little .05 on one breast with the words Bloody Id!@t plastered across the front.

Got to go today with my 2 boys and seeing the cup in the flesh was glorious

We got there around 430pm and the place was practically empty, we were able to go straight in with no queue just had to wait for the lady who was getting a photo with her daughter to finish then we were straight in. Kids had fun at the sports museum too with the interactive stuff so was a good arvo all round 😀

Was Yakka from the 70s? My memories of the Pies were with Spicers Papers which was the late 80s

Took the punt, went in with MFC email. Staff very helpful and all good 🏆

Hi Gonz. Yeah, I think it was. It's funny the things you remember. My family emigrated here in late 1979 and my first memory of footy was seeing North play Collingwood in a prelim on a black & white portable telly in the migrant hostel in Springvale we were staying at. I still remember the order that all the clubs finished that year (we were 11th with 5 wins I think) and the sponsors each club had. Essendon had Don Smallgoods, South had Just Jeans and Footscray's was Pyrox, the people heaters. North had Budget because of Bob Ansett who was their club president at the time.

What a killer memory! Is it just as good at retaining useful information? 😁 JK

Hey Rab! Just curious… your family emigrated from Scotland in a Carlton premiership year. My family also emigrated (from Ireland) in a Carlton premiership year and this was the reason my brothers jumped on the Blues bandwagon. (In 1979 11th meant second last.) What was your reason for choosing the Dees?

Hi WCW. My dad & brother jumped on the Richmond bandwagon when they won the 1980 premiership.

Another Scots family that we knew who had already made the move here convinced us to emigrate. I think my folks saw the writing on the wall when Thatcher got elected. Anyway, we'd just got off the plane and I was hanging out in their eldest son's bedroom for him to get home from school and saw all of these footy club stickers (from Hutton's Footy Franks) on his wardrobe and being quite visually minded took an instant liking to the Demons one. It was a slow burn from there over the summer but when I saw that only one other kid followed Melbourne in my school in Dandenong I knew they were the team for me and that I wanted to get a season ticket. Everyone was into Kiss and followed Collingwood so I took an instant dislike to both.

And no, I rarely retaining useful information.

Well you sure picked the right team! And I’m guessing that beautiful last Saturday in September this year has made your 42 years of pain SO worth it.
❤️💙

Finally gotta photo with my Dad holding the Melbourne Demons 2021 AFL Premiership Cup today!

Was a wonderful moment! Saw many other happy Melbourne Demons supporters with their families taking photos with our 57 year drought breaking Premiership Cup!

It finally feels real! We are reigning Premiers! Go Demons! 😁👍🏻

Well done to the club on the whole Cup Tour and for making it so accessible to us plebs.

In all my years of dreaming about a flag, I never imagined that we'd get our hands on the actual silverware.

Thanks MFC!

didn't know they allowed smoking in the sports museum

Finally had the opportunity to touch the cup today along with my wife, daughter, daughter-in-law and two grand kids. It was a memorable experience and all staff were very helpful. We went straight to the Cup and then had a bit of fun with the various inter- active games and all came away happy and satisfied.go Dees.💕❤️💙

Went yesterday afternoon and got photos of holding the cup. Went down the escalator into the room and there it was, our premiership cup……………an absolutely surreal moment and a great way to end the most memorable of years (footy-wise).

Bring on 2022. I’m still hungry.

With the round 4 game in Adelaide on Thursday, and possible the aflw grand final on the Saturday, any news on the cup coming to the city of churches?

I'm going to a function with the Queensland Demons on Saturday, before the game, and the Cup is attending as is the CEO. Prior to that I believe it is at a Sporting Globe function, so I will assume it will travel to the City Of Churches at some stage. Perty promised it will continue it's tour and I expect it will be in the Alice as well.

Love Kozzie!

Great to see Kate Roffey travel to all the communities and that the club had AM-W front and centre and were accompanied by our AFLW players Alyssa Bannan and Megan Fitzsimon.

It's coming to Hobart on Friday and Saturday next week. @Nasher get around it.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
