Almost every year at least 2 or 3 teams miss the following year due to age or injuries to players last year St Kilda Collingwood Richmond and West Coast missed this years finals which is great for the AFL competition creating hope for supporters as well as heartbreak for others.

I hope we are able to improve enough to stay ahead of the chasing pack who want our success to be a flash in the pan.

Why are Geelong placed so highly. Also that list tells me that the roos will be wooden spooners. That will not be the case.

GWS @ $17 is not bad value.

West Coast the best chance from outside the top 8, not sure about the tigers.

Sydney are my dark horse. GWS would have been to but no Toby for 5 rounds will hurt them.

i agree, jaded. i thought they would be the real threat this year. they shouldn't have lost their ef

can see peptides and baggies rising up this year but not threatening finalists

jeelong's odds should be greater, they now know they're on the slippery slide

Essendon don’t have the defense to go all the way IMO.
GWS have all the talent in the world. Something is not right with that club tho.

I would be laying Geelong at $9, particularly after just giving Chris Scott another contract.

This time last year we had St Kilda odds to win the flag (~$21).

what a 12 months it’s been

If the Dees are $4.50 now, its a long way home. Any sneeze will see the odds blow out.

GWS still have a stack of talent but I'm not sure they have the bookends.

Phil Davis is cooked, Hogan can't string more than a few games together, Toby Green is suspended for the first five rounds & they've just sent a very serviceable forward in Finlayson packing for a 3rd rounder. The cherry on top is Bobby Hill now on the way out.

I do agree Richmond could bounce back but a lot depends on whether they still have the hunger.

I was bullish on Sydney all year.

If they beat GWS in the first final things could have been very different.

I would also have Carlton higher. I don’t think they will win the flag but they have the bones of a very good team now.

I can't have Geelong in that group.

$15 to $20 is more like it.

Better taking Essendon at $26 😉

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
